# Iconic Sci-Fi Specimen Art This Crafty Alien Embryo is Perfect for Fans of the Iconic Alien Films By Kyle Towers | Published 2013-03-26 | Art & Design Source: Trend Hunter, https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/alien-embryo References: [obviouswinner](http://www.obviouswinner.com/obvwin/2013/3/25/custom-alien-embryos-in-desktop-preservation-specimen-jars.html) & [yanchuan111.deviantart](http://yanchuan111.deviantart.com/) This alien embryo comes from the skillful hands of deviantART's yanchuan111. He allegedly uses this alien-inspired artwork as a desktop decoration. Most would agree that it may be difficult to concentrate on getting any work done when there is a looming fear that the Alien may just burst through the human-made jar -- or that may just be paranoia talking. This alien embryo sculpture is made with impressive intricate detailing and is cleverly placed in a jar similar to the way it is depicted in the movies. It's a common warning to not eat or drink near your keyboard, and this artwork may inspire a new saying, since embryo juice can't be good for the keyboard either. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 3.5/10 - Popularity: 51% | Activity: 47% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 70% men, 30% women - Primary generations: Millennial, Gen X - Top markets: North America, Europe, Asia ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Art & Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/artdesign) > [Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/design) ## Key Themes ### Why This Trend Is Growing - **Sci-fi Specimen Art:** Opportunity for artists to create intricate and detailed sculptures inspired by sci-fi films, such as the Alien franchise. - **Desktop Decorations:** Opportunity to design unique and attention-grabbing desktop decorations that add a touch of personality to workspaces. - **Paranoia-inspired Art:** Opportunity to create artwork that elicits a sense of paranoia and suspense, appealing to fans of the horror and thriller genres. ### Industries Being Reshaped - **Artificial Sculpture:** Disruptive innovation opportunity for artists and sculptors to create lifelike artificial sculptures using advanced techniques and materials. - **Desktop Accessories:** Disruptive innovation opportunity for designers and manufacturers to create innovative and aesthetically pleasing desktop accessories that enhance the work environment. - **Horror Entertainment:** Disruptive innovation opportunity for the entertainment industry to develop immersive and spine-chilling experiences, appealing to fans of horror and thriller genres. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Anamorphic Fuzzy Glowing Vessels](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/alien-vases.md) - [Otherworldly Wooden Art](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/wooden-sculptures-1.md) - [Fungi-Inspired Multidisciplinary Art Projects](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/black-void.md) - [Alien-Inspired Metal Stool Concepts](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/metal-stool-1.md) - [Sci-Fi Nostalgic Dragon Sculptures](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/ground-dragon.md) - [Digital Archetype Sculptures](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/christian-rex-van-minnen-1.md) - [Deep Sea-Themed Cocktail Kits](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/kraken-rum-1.md) - [Sci-Fi Show Sculptures](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/yusuke-hanai-1.md) - [Biomorphic Travel Capsule](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/living-systems.md)
