To assure that her plant was well taken care of, she created a pouch to wear on her stomach. The pouch resembles the belly of a pregnant woman and is weighted with soil to help the [plant grow](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/balconyfarm-pot) and simulate the weight of a child. This project created a bond between her and the plant. After wearing the pouch for an extended period of time, Kim noticed that her legs would get tired. But to her, the sense of responsibility was rewarding. As the plant grew to a bigger size, it was wheeled around in a [tiny stroller](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/gourd-project), as if the plant was maturing just as a child would. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 3.6/10 - Popularity: 47% | Activity: 54% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 30% men, 70% women - Primary generations: Millennial - Top markets: North America, Asia ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Eco](https://www.trendhunter.com/eco) ## Key Themes ### What's Driving This Trend - **Plant Parenting:** The 'Plant Pregnancy' project highlights the trend of treating plants as children and nurturing them with care. - **Emotional Bond with Plants:** The project showcases the trend of forming emotional connections with plants and recognizing the rewards of responsibility. - **Simulating Parenthood:** The use of a belly pouch and stroller in the project points to the trend of simulating parenthood experiences with plants. ### Who This Affects Most - **Plant Care and Accessories:** The project opens opportunities for innovative products and services catering to plant care, such as specialized pouches and plant strollers. - **Eco-art and Conceptual Design:** This project intersects the fields of art and design, inspiring new possibilities for eco-art installations and conceptual design projects. - **Eco-therapy and Mindfulness:** The project aligns with the growing interest in eco-therapy and mindfulness, presenting an opportunity to incorporate plant care activities into well-being practices. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Digital Interaction Planters](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/planta-planter.md) - [Dementia Support Smart Planters](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/plant-smart-planter.md) - [Climate-Controlled Planters](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/smart-flower-system.md) - [Portable Minimal Smart Planters](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/balconyfarm-planter.md) - [Medical-Inspired Plant Tools](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/mini-plant-life-support.md) - [AI-Powered Planters](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/leafypod.md) - [Plant Care Kits](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/plant-parent-tool-kit.md) - [Kid-Friendly Houseplant Subscriptions](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/my-first-plant.md) - [Smart Self-Watering Planters](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/tendril-1.md)
