Looking like a Lightsaber form Star Wars, the illuminator is connected to a [wooden frame base](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/arc-lamp) that positions an acrylic tube up and over a workstation; an LED strip in the tube provides bright illumination that is diffused for an ethereal aesthetic. The simplistic design of the lamp speaks to the recent shift towards [deconstructed decor products](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/allen-key-lamp), which convey a strong statement using minimal components. The 'Alhazen' lamp is the design work of the Saif Faisal Design Workshop, and is sure to be admired by both design and science fiction aficionados alike. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 3.8/10 - Popularity: 74% | Activity: 32% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 50% men, 50% women - Primary generations: Millennial, Gen X - Top markets: Asia ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Art & Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/artdesign) ## Key Themes ### What Makes This Trend Stand Out - **High-end Illuminators:** The trend of high-end illuminators allows for the exploration of futuristic aesthetics in lighting design. - **Deconstructed Decor Products:** The trend of deconstructed decor products opens up opportunities for creating statement pieces with minimal components. - **Futuristic Aesthetics:** The trend of futuristic aesthetics in design showcases the desire for a sci-fi inspired visual appeal. ### Sectors Adopting This - **Lighting Design:** The lighting design industry can leverage high-end illuminators and futuristic aesthetics to create innovative lighting solutions. - **Home Decor:** The home decor industry can explore the trend of deconstructed decor products to create unique and minimalist statement pieces. - **Science Fiction Merchandise:** The science fiction merchandise industry can capitalize on the demand for futuristic aesthetics by offering products inspired by sci-fi weaponry. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Ethereal Space-Inspired Lamps](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/wormhole-table-lamp.md) - [Simplistic Angular Desktop Illuminators](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/linear-table-lamp.md) - [Face Mask-Made Illuminators](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/anonymlux-lamp.md) - [Suspended Halo Light Fixtures](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/lamplox-minimalist-floor-lamp.md) - [Sci-Fi-Inspired Dynamic Lamps](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/spacetime-transformation-lamp.md) - [Hollow Candle-Like Table Lamps](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/lampe.md) - [Luxurious Futuristic Table Lamps](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/futuristic-table-lamp.md) - [Futuristic LED Lava Lamps](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/moonside-lamp-one.md) - [Scenic Architecture Lamps](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/architecture-inspired-table-lamp.md)
