Alexis Rockman is using his artistic talents to portray the [impacts of climate change](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/irreversible-scale) on our world as well as evolution influenced by genetic engineering. The brightly colored paintings feature mutated animals such as a rabbit with three ears, fish that look like bird-lizards and rodents with wings. I like the fact that Alexis Rockman's art makes you think about the changes that are happening to our world and what the outcomes may be. One of my favorite paintings from the series is the one featuring the destroyed [Hollywood](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/marilyn-monroe-barbie) sign that is over-grown with weeds. Perhaps these paintings could possibly predict the not-so-far-distant future. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 2.3/10 - Popularity: 46% | Activity: 16% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 50% men, 50% women - Primary generations: Millennial, Gen X - Top markets: North America, Europe ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Art & Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/artdesign) ## Key Themes ### Why This Trend Is Growing - **Future Landscapes:** Opportunity for businesses to explore innovative ways to design and create sustainable and resilient environments. - **Climate Change Impact:** Potential for businesses to develop products and services that help mitigate and adapt to the effects of climate change. - **Genetic Engineering:** Opportunity for industries to embrace genetic engineering to enhance evolution and create new possibilities. ### Industries Being Reshaped - **Art and Design:** Disruptive innovation opportunities for artists and designers to use their creativity in envisioning and communicating the impact of environmental challenges. - **Environmental Solutions:** Opportunity for companies specializing in sustainable solutions to provide products and services that address the challenges depicted in the artwork. - **Biotechnology:** Potential for biotech companies to leverage genetic engineering techniques to create novel and beneficial organisms that can thrive in changing environments. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Immersive Climate Installations](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/remembering-the-future.md) - [Interactive Marine Ecosystem Sculptures](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/marine-ecosystem-sculptures.md) - [Sea Level-Measuring Sculptures](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/totemy-series.md) - [Climate-Awareness Soft Art Sculptures](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/dreamstones.md) - [Multi-Sensory Art Experiences](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/arcadia-earth-toronto-benjamin-von-wong.md) - [AI-Inspired Digital Art Programs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/evolving-perspectives.md) - [Striking Urban Wildlife Art](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/clare-allin.md) - [Vibrantly Colorful Dynamic Artwork](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/kayla-rumpp.md) - [Artful Activism Shows](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/snowflake-exhibition.md)
