# Heroic Costumed Kid Illustrations Alexandria Law Draws Costumed Girls as Real Superheroes By Mesel Isaac | Published 2014-02-27 | Updated 2014-03-03 | Pop Culture Source: Trend Hunter, https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/alexandria-law References: [twentytwowords](http://twentytwowords.com/female-superheroes-based-on-how-little-girls-imagine-them-10-pictures/) & [bettersupes.tumblr](http://bettersupes.tumblr.com/) Artist Alexandria Law has developed an interesting side project on her Tumblr account where she find pictures of [cute, little girls dressed up](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/joyful-outlines) as [superheroes](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/krispy-kreme-hungry-for-heroes) and then illustrates them. Regardless if the girl is dressed in a costume of an actual superhero from comic books or a made up one of the kid's own imagination, Alexandria Law doesn't discriminate and will render these pint-sized heroes beautifully. Rather than simply illustrate the girls as is, Alexandria Law puts them in an action pose, and in some cases, goes as far as adding effects or having them fight crime. Alexandria Law makes it clear that this is a passion project that comes after her other duties so she may not be able to update as often as she'd like. However, she's already built up an incredible catalog so check out her site to view the rest of her superhero kid gallery. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 1.8/10 - Popularity: 19% | Activity: 26% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 30% men, 70% women - Primary generations: Millennial - Top markets: North America, Europe ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Pop Culture](https://www.trendhunter.com/popculture) > [Media](https://www.trendhunter.com/media) ## Key Themes ### What's Driving This Trend - **Illustrated Superhero Kids:** Opportunity for artists to create illustrations of children dressed up as superheroes, adding dynamic action poses and effects for a unique twist. - **Empowering Young Girls:** Empowerment movement providing young girls with superhero personas and encouraging imaginative play for self-confidence development. - **Passion Projects:** Increasing popularity of individuals pursuing personal projects alongside their professional responsibilities, creating a platform for showcasing alternative talents. ### Who This Affects Most - **Art and Illustration:** Artists can tap into the demand for illustrated superhero portraits of children, offering unique artwork options for parents and enthusiasts. - **Children's Entertainment:** Opportunity to develop superhero-themed content for young audiences, promoting imaginative play and inclusive representation. - **Online Platforms:** Creation of online platforms dedicated to showcasing passion projects, providing a space for artists and creators to share their work and connect with like-minded individuals. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Heroic Female Figurines](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/la-borinquena.md) - [Kids Art Marketplaces](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/kid-art-show.md) - [Personalized Children’s Books](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/tinyherostories.md) - [Children-Focused Design Contests](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/little-artists-design-contest.md) - [Enchanting Classic-Animation-Inspired Jewelry](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/girls-crew.md) - [Superhero-Themed DIY Art Kits](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/jim-lee-batman.md) - [Superhero-Themed Hospital Campaigns](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/sickkids-foundation-ad.md) - [Comic Book Coloring Kits](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/made-by-me-manga-artist-set.md) - [Transformative AI Art](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/drawings-alive.md)
