Hindi can also now be shown on the developers' list of skills. [Amazon](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/alexa-smart-home) first announced that Hindi would be added to the Alexa Skill Kit during an AI conference. After the update, Alexa will be fluent in Hindi, where previously it could only process limited amounts of Hinglish, which is an [amalgamation of Hindi and English](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/haiva). Rohit Prasad is the head scientist as well as Vice President for Alexa. He indicated that adding Hindi to the platform was a contextual challenge to incorporate the language into the AI stem.
