# Living Paintings Alexa Meade Brings Art Alive With Realistic Acrylic Body Paint By Luisa Amanda Gomes | Published 2010-03-13 | Art & Design Source: Trend Hunter, https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/alexa-meade References: [bezbrige](http://www.bezbrige.com/index.php/Art/acrylic-on-flesh.html) & [flickr](http://www.flickr.com/people/alexameade/) Alexa Meade could be the greatest prank artist alive or just the best [body painter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/miley-cyrus-maison-margiela). What I would give to see a walking, talking painting on the mean streets of Toronto, like that badass old man on a crowded subway car. What Alexa Meade does is paints on her subjects in the traditional style of the [acrylic paintings](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/image-painter). So all of her subjects look like escaped characters of old painting. I wonder if she could bring Picasso’s artwork to life too? ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 6.9/10 - Popularity: 100% | Activity: 98% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 70% men, 30% women - Primary generations: Gen Z, Millennial, Gen X - Top markets: North America, Europe, Asia ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Art & Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/artdesign) > [DIY](https://www.trendhunter.com/diy) ## Key Themes ### Key Themes Behind This Trend - **Realistic Acrylic Body Paint:** Disruptive innovation opportunity: Develop new body paint techniques that create even more realistic and lifelike effects. - **Walking, Talking Paintings:** Disruptive innovation opportunity: Explore ways to animate painted subjects, allowing them to move and interact with their surroundings. - **Bringing Art to Life:** Disruptive innovation opportunity: Develop technologies that can transform two-dimensional paintings into immersive, three-dimensional experiences. ### Where This Applies - **Art:** Disruptive innovation opportunity: Integrate technology into traditional art mediums to create new, interactive experiences for viewers. - **Body Painting:** Disruptive innovation opportunity: Develop new materials and techniques for body painters to create more realistic and dynamic designs. - **Entertainment:** Disruptive innovation opportunity: Create interactive installations and performances that merge art and technology, providing a unique and engaging experience for audiences. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Voice-Activated Wall Art](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/fraimic.md) - [Reimagined Puzzled Artful Paintings](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/portrait-of-a-woman-in-a-hat.md) - [Painting-Immersive Photo Exhibits](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/new-ground-exhibition.md) - [Stylized Portrait Generators](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/face-to-all.md) - [Painterly Dining Experiences](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/7-paintings-the-art-of-dining.md) - [Glass Beaded Intricate Artworks](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/painting-exhibition.md) - [Life-Like 3D Canvases](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/lumino.md) - [Reimagined Impressionist Paintings](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/impressionist-paintings.md) - [Three-Dimensional Art Exhibits](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/3d-doubt-your-eyes.md)
