# Loopy Spice Rattles Alena Fajstova's Salt and Pepper Shakers Have a More Engaging Grip By Amelia Roblin | Published 2013-01-14 | Art & Design Source: Trend Hunter, https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/alena-fajstovas-salt-and-pepper-sakers References: [industrialdesignserved](http://www.industrialdesignserved.com/gallery/Salt-and-pepper-shakers/2775561) & [behance.net](http://www.behance.net/gallery/Salt-and-pepper-shakers/2775561) Inside some cylindrical or prismatic canister is the way that seasonings are usually kept, which is a great deal different from how they're stored in Alena Fajstová's Salt and Pepper Shakers. This concept set of dispensers explores a more malleable method to tipping out and refilling spices. A [transparent rubber hose](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/loopy-chair) is the primary chamber in which the ground meal toppings are kept. In its functional form, the tube is looped around so that both ends are inserted into a [metal lid with perforations](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/twist-collection-1). To use it, you are presented with different options for how to pick it up. It can be held from the outside with a [firm grip](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/pinch-hold) or clutched with your hand slipped through the hoop. Alena Fajstová's Salt and Pepper Shakers also suffice to seal seasonings for storage purposes. They can be shaped into closed rings and tightened up. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 0.8/10 - Popularity: 6% | Activity: 10% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 50% men, 50% women - Primary generations: Gen Z, Gen Alpha, Millennial, Gen X - Top markets: Europe ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Art & Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/artdesign) > [Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/design) ## Key Themes ### What Makes This Trend Stand Out - **Malleable Spice Dispensers:** This trend involves the development of more flexible and adaptable spice dispensers, such as Alena Fajstová's Salt and Pepper Shakers, which offer a new method for tipping out and refilling spices. - **Transparent Rubber Chamber:** This trend focuses on the use of transparent rubber chambers as primary storage containers for ground meal toppings, allowing for easy visibility and measurement of spices. - **Innovative Grip Design:** This trend explores the creation of innovative grip designs for spice shakers, like the looped rubber hose or hoop design in Alena Fajstová's Salt and Pepper Shakers, to provide a more engaging and ergonomic experience. ### Sectors Adopting This - **Kitchenware:** The kitchenware industry can leverage the malleable spice dispenser trend to develop new products that offer improved convenience and functionality to home cooks and professional chefs. - **Food Packaging:** The food packaging industry can incorporate the transparent rubber chamber trend in spice packaging to enhance product visibility and appeal to consumers who value easy measurement and freshness. - **Product Design:** The product design industry can capitalize on the innovative grip design trend to create ergonomic and user-friendly spice shakers that stand out in the market and improve the overall dining experience. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Contemporary Pepper Grinder Concepts](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/zjddg.md) - [Hourglass-Shaped Kitchen Containers](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/grains-of-time.md) - [Hen-Shaped Ergonomic Oil Dispensers](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/bernardo-diaz-lopez.md) - [Smart Spice Grinders](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/gravity-grinder.md) - [Traditional Food Preservation Containers](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/twist-food-storage-container.md) - [Spherical Mortar & Pestles](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/spicy-mortar-and-pestle.md) - [MSG Shaker Sets](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/shaker-sets.md) - [Dynamic Curved Bottle Openers](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/dancing-opener.md) - [AI-Powered Spice Dispensers](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/smart-spice-dispenser.md)
