This quick [insect breakfast dish](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/ghost-breakfast-burger) is made using a [hard-boiled egg](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/royal-eggs-benedict), capers, a button mushroom and onions. Boil your egg as normal and place it on the plate using an onion as head of the spider and capers for eyes. Cut your mushroom thin to make it into eight squirmy legs, slice the egg in half and remove the yoke, mash it up with the spices and flavorings you like to include in your deviled egg then place it back. To make your Albino black widow deviled eggs more authentic, sprinkle a design on their backs made out of black pepper, paprika or garlic powder. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 2.1/10 - Popularity: 35% | Activity: 19% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 70% men, 30% women - Primary generations: Gen Z, Millennial - Top markets: North America ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Lifestyle](https://www.trendhunter.com/lifestyle) > [Food](https://www.trendhunter.com/food) ## Key Themes ### Key Themes Behind This Trend - **Insect Food:** As consumers look for alternative protein sources, businesses can explore incorporating insects into their food offerings, such as using them as a creative twist in traditional dishes like deviled eggs. - **Novelty Breakfast Foods:** The popularity of social media-worthy breakfast dishes like the albino black widow deviled eggs provide opportunities for businesses to create unique and visually appealing dishes to attract customers. - **DIY Cooking Hacks:** DIY cooking hacks like this guide to making albino black widow deviled eggs taps into a trend of consumers wanting easy and fun recipes to make at home, creating opportunities for food bloggers and cooking influencers to create similar recipes for their audience. ### Where This Applies - **Food & Beverage:** The food and beverage industry can explore incorporating insect-based protein sources and creatively designed dishes to attract adventurous eaters as well as social media enthusiasts. - **Hospitality:** Hotels and restaurants can draw in crowds by offering unique and visually appealing breakfast dishes that patrons can't find elsewhere, like insect-inspired dishes or creative twists on classic breakfast favorites. - **Digital Content Creation:** The rise of DIY cooking hacks presents an opportunity for food bloggers, cooking influencers, and social media content creators to develop and share fun and inventive recipes with their audience - including visually captivating insect-based dishes. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Viral Egg Tasting Menus](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/egg-flights.md) - [Savory Insect Snacks](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/savory-insect-snack.md) - [Insect Whisky Pairings](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/a-pairing-with-legs.md) - [Scrambled Seafood Breakfasts](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/scramblers-lineup.md) - [Insect-Based Inflight Meals](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/zipair.md) - [Breakfast-Inspired Easter Chocolates](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/chocolate-egg-easter.md) - [Caramelized Organ Chocolates](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/zotter-chocolates-brains-eggs.md) - [Ready-to-Eat Vegan Deviled Eggs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/vegan-deviled-egg.md) - [Cauliflower Breakfast Cups](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/heat-and-eat-cups.md)
