# Agave Leaf Lighting The Akve Lamp will Make Your Living Room Blossom By Alex Scott | Published 2010-03-12 | Art & Design Source: Trend Hunter, https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/akve-lamp References: [industrialdesignserved](http://www.industrialdesignserved.com/Gallery/Akve-Lamp/370863) & [behance.net](http://www.behance.net/raulpozos) Probably one of the [weirdest light fixtures](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/tuloa) I've seen to date, the Akve Lamp was inspired by the [Mexican plant, the Agave](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/blossom-chandelier), which is one of the main ingredients in tequila. Mmm...tequila. Designed by Raul Pozos, the Akve Lamp contains a bulb within each one of the [spike-shaped bubbles](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/ceramic-blossom) that can be turned on independently or in unison. Now I know what you're thinking, "Can the Akve Lamp be used to make tequila?" The answer is, unfortunately, no. However it might provide nice ambiance with which to enjoy a nice snifter of Patron. Cheers! ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 1.6/10 - Popularity: 10% | Activity: 29% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 30% men, 70% women - Primary generations: Millennial - Top markets: North America, Europe ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Art & Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/artdesign) > [Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/design) ## Key Themes ### Why This Trend Is Growing - **Plant-inspired Lighting:** Disruptive innovation opportunity: Develop sustainable and energy-efficient lighting solutions that mimic the beauty and functionality of plants. - **Individualized Illumination:** Disruptive innovation opportunity: Create customizable lighting fixtures with independent bulbs for personalized lighting experiences. - **Eco-friendly Design:** Disruptive innovation opportunity: Integrate sustainable materials and production methods into lighting design to promote environmental consciousness. ### Industries Being Reshaped - **Interior Design:** Disruptive innovation opportunity: Incorporate innovative lighting solutions into interior design concepts to elevate the aesthetics and functionality of spaces. - **Hospitality:** Disruptive innovation opportunity: Implement unique lighting fixtures in hotels, restaurants, and bars to create memorable experiences for guests. - **Sustainable Technology:** Disruptive innovation opportunity: Combine sustainable practices with lighting technology to create eco-friendly solutions for residential and commercial spaces. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Plant-Based Table Lamps](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/plantbased-lamp.md) - [Money Plant-Inspired Illuminators](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/pilea-lamp.md) - [Demure Dual-Function Hanging Planters](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/light-fixture-planter.md) - [Plant Pod-Inspired Pendant Lights](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/nature-inspired-pendant-light.md) - [Whimsical Glass Bubbled Lamps](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/peeka.md) - [Ecological Dual Lampshade Designs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/air-light.md) - [Ambient Grow Lamps](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/aura-ambient-grow-light.md) - [Naturalistic Biophilic Lamp Designs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/bioo-lamp.md) - [Posh Plant-Supporting Lamps](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/ample-plant-light-n1.md)
