The facade is constructed of sheets of red aluminum and offers a refreshing take on the four-storey building that sits between a train station and a fire hall. The [woven sheets of aluminium](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/exp-building) are five different shades of red and were designed by Aisaka Architects to act as sun shades for the workers inside, while the red color is a reference to the brick building that previously stood at the space. The woven facade is also a reference to a [traditional Japanese bamboo blind](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/shou-sugi-ban) and serves as a bright and refreshing element to an otherwise conventional city block. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 3.7/10 - Popularity: 68% | Activity: 34% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 30% men, 70% women - Primary generations: Gen X - Top markets: Asia ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Art & Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/artdesign) > [Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/design) ## Key Themes ### Key Themes Behind This Trend - **Colorful Facades in Architecture:** The use of colorful and unconventional facades in building design can create visually striking and unique structures that stand out in urban landscapes. - **Nature-inspired Building Design:** Architects can draw inspiration from nature, such as traditional bamboo blinds, to create functional and aesthetically pleasing building designs. - **Sun Shade Applications in Architecture:** Architects can explore the use of unique sun shades, such as woven metal facades, to provide practical benefits for building occupants while also enhancing the overall design of the building. ### Where This Applies - **Architecture:** Architects who incorporate unconventional design elements and take inspiration from nature can stand out in a competitive industry and create unique and memorable structures for clients. - **Construction:** Construction companies can explore the use of innovative building materials and techniques to bring unique and challenging architectural designs to life, helping to elevate the industry as a whole. - **Urban Design:** Urban planners and designers can incorporate visually striking and unconventional buildings into the fabric of urban environments to create vibrant and dynamic cityscapes that attract visitors and residents alike. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Office Building Rainbow Facades](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/vertical-rainbow-office.md) - [Spiralling Stainless-Steel Cultural Centers](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/010-building.md) - [Wooden Residential Parisian Buildings](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/yamatani.md) - [Reimagined Tea Pavilions](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/wire-mesh.md) - [Ethereal Mesh Canopy Cafes](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/cs-somme-cafe.md) - [Neon Illustation-Donned Buildings](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/crafted-world-exhibition-1.md) - [Vacant Wood-Clad Offices](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/ichihara-life-and-work-commission-office.md) - [Metal Sheet-Facade Book Stores](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/shanghai-book-city.md) - [Gridded Screen Apartment Blocks](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/residential-building-1.md)
