# Plushy Linked Partitions The Airwave Absorber Increases Visual Intrigue but Softens Auditory Chaos By Amelia Roblin | Published 2012-03-24 | Art & Design Source: Trend Hunter, https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/airwave-by-borselius-design References: [notcot.org](http://www.notcot.org/post/46250/) & [borselius.se](http://www.borselius.se/airwave) Open plan living makes sense to the flexible modern lifestyle, but it doesn't come without its drawbacks. Airwave by Borselius Design solves two of these with a punchy and contemporary quality that would enhance the atmosphere of stylish interior spaces, as far as more than one sense is concerned. [Abstracta](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/abstracta) manufactures the system to hang from a metal rod below the ceiling, relying on the hooked edges of the S-shaped modules to create curtain-like elements. Thick and upholstered in soft fleecy fabric, the lush red units serve collectively as a [room divider](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/breeze-divider) to separate spaces and a [sound absorber](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/lanes-acoustic-system) to muffle noises between different areas of expansive chambers. But in addition to performing as effectively as a proper wall for partitioning, Airwave by Borselius Design introduces a bold visual aspect that will further please the eyes. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 2.2/10 - Popularity: 32% | Activity: 25% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 50% men, 50% women - Primary generations: Millennial, Gen X - Top markets: Europe ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Art & Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/artdesign) > [Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/design) ## Key Themes ### Why This Trend Is Growing - **Airwave Sound Absorber:** Introducing plushy sound-absorbing partitions to enhance aesthetics and acoustics in modern interior design. - **Open Plan Living Solution:** Promoting creative and flexible living spaces with innovative sound-absorbing room dividers in modern interior design. - **Interior Design Innovation:** Revolutionizing interior design with visually appealing and sound-absorbing room dividers that promote creativity and flexibility. ### Industries Being Reshaped - **Interior Design:** Introducing plushy sound-absorbing room dividers that revolutionize modern interior design for homes and commercial spaces. - **Acoustics:** Disrupting the acoustics industry by introducing aesthetically pleasing and high-performing sound-absorbing room dividers. - **Home Improvement:** Offering disruptive home improvement solutions by introducing sound-absorbing room dividers that enhance aesthetics and acoustics at affordable prices. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Modular Acoustic Screens](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/harp-system.md) - [Geometric Sound-Dampening Wall Art](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/acoustic-compositions.md) - [Wool Office Soundscape Panels](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/abstracta.md) - [Work-Enhancing Partitioning Systems](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/partitioning-system.md) - [Pleated Textile Dividers](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/plissade.md) - [Felt-Made Retractable Room Dividers](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/pixels-1.md) - [Elegant Innovative Room Dividers](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/glimakra-of-sweden.md) - [Flexible Room Partition Systems](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/room-partition-system.md) - [Acoustic Optimization Office Panels](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/kirei-air-baffle.md)
