Airware's drones have been designed to watch over and guard endangered animal species in Kenya. Airware puts [drone technology](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/dji-matrice-400) to good use by redefining traditional animal protection methods, where wildlife reserves in the past, have maintained a lookout for poachers by relying on a small number of safari rangers to help conserve the wildlife. Airware’s drones uses its [infrared technologies to fly over](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/hoverair-aqua) 90,000 acres of land reserve, video logging and documenting every single person, animal, vehicle of transportation that comes in the its visual path. The drone also works days and nights. Downey, the CEO of Airware said, “we were very successful in all the things we wanted to demonstrate—spotting animals, identifying animals from the air day and night, being able to spot people, operating outside of lines of site…real-time digital communications sent to the ground.” ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 0.9/10 - Popularity: 3% | Activity: 17% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 50% men, 50% women - Primary generations: Gen X - Top markets: North America, Europe, Asia ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Art & Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/artdesign) > [Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/design) ## Key Themes ### Key Themes Behind This Trend - **Wildlife Conservation Drones:** Using drones for wildlife protection can revolutionize conservation efforts by providing real-time monitoring and surveillance. - **Infrared Technologies for Wildlife Preservation:** Incorporating infrared technologies into drone systems enables enhanced visibility during both day and night for effective animal tracking. - **Remote Monitoring and Documentation:** Utilizing drones for remote monitoring and video documentation allows for comprehensive data collection and analysis of wildlife reserves. ### Where This Applies - **Drone Technology:** Drone companies can capitalize on the growing need for wildlife protection by developing specialized solutions for monitoring and safeguarding endangered animal species. - **Wildlife Conservation:** The wildlife conservation industry can adopt drone technology as a disruptive innovation to address the challenges associated with illegal poaching and habitat loss. - **Surveillance Systems:** Companies specializing in surveillance systems can explore partnerships with drone manufacturers to integrate infrared technologies and expand their product offerings to wildlife reserves. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [AI Wildlife Protection Solutions](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/wildlife-protection.md) - [Wildlife Trafficker-Thwarting Apps](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/wildlife-traffickerthwarting-app.md) - [Wildlife Monitoring Tools](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/wildtrack.md) - [Extreme-Heat Firefighting Drones](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/firedrone-by-empa.md) - [Flame-Resistant Firefighting Drones](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/firefighting-drones.md) - [Portable Drone Detectors](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/dedrone.md) - [Sustainable Bamboo-Crafted Drones](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/bamboo-drone.md) - [Tech-Advanced Biodiversity-Monitoring Programs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/tech4nature-project.md) - [Bird-Diverting Robotic Systems](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/robotic-system.md)
