# Adjustable Airport Seats This Adjustable Airport Seat is Great for Sitting and Napping By Andrew Sztein | Published 2013-02-24 | Art & Design Source: Trend Hunter, https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/airport-seat References: [yankodesign](http://www.yankodesign.com/2013/02/22/comfortable-seating-at-airports/) & [red-dot.sg](http://www.red-dot.sg/en/) Is there anything more uncomfortable than an airport seat? What this design from Kwon Jin-Seok will do is make you a lot more comfortable when your overbooked flight delays your flying by seven hours while you down $10 drinks in an airport that smells like stress and despair. Sorry, I've had some nasty flying experiences and I got a little carried away there. What makes this design so unique is that everything on the airport seat is adjustable. The [back rest can be slid down](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/flipster-seat) to create a picnic table type of seat. The back rest can be made horizontal for [napping](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/eclipse-capsule). Built in plugs and USB ports make using your gadgets in the airport a breeze. The design is so clever that Jin-Seok won a Red Dot Award for his design. Forget airports, how can I get one of these seats in my living room? ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 3.1/10 - Popularity: 47% | Activity: 38% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 50% men, 50% women - Primary generations: Gen Z, Millennial, Gen X - Top markets: North America, South America, Europe, Asia, Africa ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Art & Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/artdesign) > [Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/design) ## Key Themes ### Key Themes Behind This Trend - **Adjustable Seating:** Opportunity for innovation in creating adjustable seating solutions for various settings beyond airports. - **Multi-functional Design:** Opportunity to develop multi-functional furniture designs that provide convenient features and adaptability. - **Enhanced Comfort:** Opportunity to explore innovative ways to improve comfort in seating, such as adjustable backrests and built-in plugs/USB ports. ### Where This Applies - **Furniture Manufacturing:** Potential for furniture manufacturers to incorporate adjustable features and convenience-focused designs in their products. - **Travel and Hospitality:** Opportunity for airlines, airports, and hotels to invest in adaptable seating options that enhance customer experience and comfort. - **Workplace Ergonomics:** Opportunity for companies to incorporate adjustable seating solutions in office spaces to improve employee comfort and productivity. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Relaxing Airplane Seat Designs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/tranquil-airlines-seating-technology.md) - [High-Performance Travel Seating](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/departures-seating.md) - [Airport Lounge Seating](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/wood-islands.md) - [Airport Sleep Stations](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/airport-dimensions.md) - [Lounge Chair Suitcases](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/bagletti-suitcase.md) - [Bold Mobile Work Seating](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/omniseat-portable-productivity.md) - [Collapsible Posture Support Seats](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/ergonomic-portable-seat.md) - [Face-First Flight Rest Aids](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/rest-aid.md) - [3D-Knit Airplane Seat Designs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/aircraft-seat-concept.md)
