The desk is named V/STOL after the aviation term "Vertical and Short Take Off and Landing." The V/STOL is equipped with electrically driven legs that enable to switch between [stand-up and sit-down postures](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/herman-miller-spout). The control panel has standard up and down arrows, memory for four positions that can be changed and saved at any time and a digital indicator of the current height. The desktop is a combination of a wooden base, aluminium plates and oak inserts in the zone of arms to prevent contact with the cold metal. The desk is also equipped with two stylish "hatches" that serve as cable entries to arrange the wires. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 6.0/10 - Popularity: 95% | Activity: 77% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 50% men, 50% women - Primary generations: Gen Z, Millennial, Gen X - Top markets: North America, Europe, Asia ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Art & Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/artdesign) > [Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/design) ## Key Themes ### What Makes This Trend Stand Out - **Aviation-inspired Furniture:** Opportunity for creating furniture designs that draw inspiration from aviation aesthetics and incorporate functional features like adjustable height and cable management. - **Transformable Desks:** Opportunity for developing desks with electrically driven legs that can switch between sit-down and stand-up postures, offering flexibility and convenience in the workspace. - **Smart Office Accessories:** Opportunity for designing office accessories with features like memory positions, digital indicators, and cable management systems to enhance productivity and organization in the workplace. ### Sectors Adopting This - **Furniture Manufacturing:** Disruptive innovation opportunity for furniture manufacturers to incorporate aviation-inspired designs and functional elements into their product lines. - **Office Furniture:** Disruptive innovation opportunity for office furniture companies to develop transformable desks with electrically driven legs that adapt to different working preferences. - **Office Supplies:** Disruptive innovation opportunity for office supply companies to create smart accessories that improve efficiency and aesthetics in the workplace, such as memory-controlled desks and cable management systems. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Adjustable Ergonomic Desks](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/croft-sitstand.md) - [Adjustable Modern Work Desks](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/spout.md) - [Gesture Control Smart Desks](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/autonomous-smartdesk-levitate.md) - [Floor-Sit Desk Designs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/uppeal-desk-lshaped.md) - [Dual-Section Standing Desks](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/dual-lift-desk.md) - [Adaptable Mobile Professional Desks](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/airy-office-desk.md) - [Customizable Power Lift Desks](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/wyrmwood-modular-desk.md) - [Ergonomic Multi-Use Desk Furniture](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/kabinett-desk.md) - [Hyper-Customizable Desks](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/hypercustomizable-desk.md)
