Airline ads typically feature sunny beach destinations, or various in seat service upgrades. Delta Airlines however, has an extremely different approach and relies on a sense of realism to promote the airline.
The feel of the entire commercial is slightly mysterious and features a haunting voiceover by Donald Sutherland. The minute-long spot is one shot of an airplane about to take off on the runway. The interesting thing about this ad however, is that an airplane is never shown, instead it relies on the viewer's collective experiences on airplanes to conclude what is going on.
Unlike traditional commercials, the focus here is on an extremely realistic auditory experience that perfectly mimics the rumbling and reverberating sounds that an airplane makes during takeoff.
