# Virtual Fantasy Aircrafts The Airbus Concept Plane is Fantastically Modern By Allison Love | Published 2010-07-20 | Autos Source: Trend Hunter, https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/airbus-concept-plane References: [bornrich.org](http://www.bornrich.org/entry/fantasy-like-airbus-concept-plane-has-holographic-projections-and-see-through-walls/) & [gizmodo](http://gizmodo.com/5590952/airbus-lightweight-plane-of-the-future-features-holographic-projections-and-invisible-floors) The Airbus Concept Plane, shown by the company at the Fanborough International Airshow, is a concept plane meant for the year 2050. The fantasy plane is a fuel-efficient aircraft which boasts "long, slim wings, a lightweight body and U-shaped tail." The inside of the plane features holographic projections of different virtual decor, allowing travelers to transform their own room into whatever they like, (a zen garden anyone?) **Implications** - Aircraft technology will surely change in the future, but Charles Champion, who is the engineering executive vice-president at Airbus explains that even though the technologies on the concept aircraft are plausible, it is not likely that it will become a reality. He believes that only some of the technologies will actually be used. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 6.3/10 - Popularity: 87% | Activity: 94% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 70% men, 30% women - Primary generations: Millennial, Gen X - Top markets: North America, Europe, Asia ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Autos](https://www.trendhunter.com/autos) ## Key Themes ### What's Driving This Trend - **Virtual Reality Decor:** Opportunity for businesses to develop holographic projection systems for customizable interior decor in various industries. - **Fuel-efficient Aircraft:** Potential for innovation in aircraft design to create more fuel-efficient planes, offering sustainability and cost-saving benefits. - **Advanced Aircraft Technologies:** Emerging technologies present opportunities to enhance air travel with features such as long, slim wings and lightweight bodies. ### Who This Affects Most - **Interior Design:** Disruptive innovation can occur in the interior design industry with the development of holographic projection systems for customizable spaces. - **Aerospace:** The aerospace industry can explore disruptive innovation by incorporating emerging technologies to create fuel-efficient and advanced aircraft designs. - **Technology:** Opportunity for technology companies to develop and provide advanced features for the aviation industry to improve efficiency and passenger experience. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Opulent Hotel-Like Jumbo Jets](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/lufthansa-technik-explorer.md) - [Renewable Energy Aircrafts](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/solarpowered-aircraft.md) - [Avian African Aircraft Concepts](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/aircraft-concepts.md) - [Modular Concept Aircraft](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/modular-concept-aircraft.md) - [Zero-Emission Solar-Powered Aircrafts](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/falcon-horizon.md) - [Hydrogen-Powered Hypersonic Airplanes](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/sky-magnetar.md) - [Spacious Five-Seater eVTOLs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/pantuo-pantala-concept-h.md) - [Supersonic Aircraft-Inspired EVs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/concorde-20.md) - [Shapeshifting Interior Electric Vehicles](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/volkswagen-gentravel-concept.md)
