It is a series of [elevated geometric gardens](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/attic-above-garden) that hang above cyclists and drivers alike in the city of Melbourne, Australia. Funded by the city's 2013 Arts Grant, the project offers a unique set of decor that will intrigue as much as it delights. Made out of [recycled bicycle wheels](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/kriskadecor-1), wires and bromeliad plants, Airborne by Lloyd Godman is the first installation to debut for the Sustainable Living Festival. The gardens, which are self-sustainable since they nutrients from the plants' leaves, spin and rotate as the wind blows. This creates a a whirring visual appeal while adding some some greenery to the otherwise gray, concrete space of the busy city. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 3.4/10 - Popularity: 56% | Activity: 37% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 50% men, 50% women - Primary generations: Millennial, Gen X - Top markets: Europe ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Eco](https://www.trendhunter.com/eco) ## Key Themes ### Why This Trend Is Growing - **Elevated Geometric Gardens:** Disruptive innovation opportunity: Develop sustainable hanging gardens for urban spaces to add greenery and visual appeal. - **Urban Art Installations:** Disruptive innovation opportunity: Create unique art installations that intrigue and delight while enhancing the urban environment. - **Sustainable Living:** Disruptive innovation opportunity: Explore self-sustainable solutions that incorporate nature and promote a greener lifestyle. ### Industries Being Reshaped - **Urban Design and Architecture:** Disruptive innovation opportunity: Incorporate innovative green installations into urban design projects to transform city landscapes. - **Sustainable Technology:** Disruptive innovation opportunity: Develop sustainable technologies that utilize recycled materials and promote self-sustainability. - **Art and Culture:** Disruptive innovation opportunity: Merge art and culture with urban spaces to create engaging and visually appealing installations. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Artful Garden Inflatable Spheres](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/this-is-air.md) - [Nature-Inspired Artful Garden Installations](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/henderson-art-garden.md) - [Blooming Clustered Art Forms](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/structural-botany.md) - [Nature-Connecting Design Installations](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/vert-installation.md) - [Inflatable Vibrant Art Installations](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/forest-dancer.md) - [Urban Roofscape Projects](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/central-yards.md) - [Living Landscape Homes](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/hedge-and-arbour-house.md) - [Outdoor Floral Sculpture Installations](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/sculptures-at-kew-gardens.md) - [Nature-Inspired Installations](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/humannature-1.md)
