# Gaseous Smoking Barriers The Air Wall System is an Invisible Semi-Enclosure for Smokers By Amelia Roblin | Published 2014-10-01 | Art & Design Source: Trend Hunter, https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/air-wall References: [yankodesign](http://www.yankodesign.com/2014/09/30/a-safer-smoking-haven/) & [yankodesign](http://www.yankodesign.com/2014/09/30/a-safer-smoking-haven/) Smokers and non-smokers alike will be able to appreciate the wonder that is the Air Wall Isolation System. This smart concept enables people to take cigarette breaks wherever these hi-tech parasols might be placed, without bothering the non-smokers in their midst. Train station platforms, markets and building entrances would no longer be out of bounds for anyone with a craving for a puff. This structure behaves as an enclosed chamber without actually confining anyone at all. In use, the Air Wall Isolation Smoking Area produces a [curtain of downward-forced air](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/breetee-portable-range-hood) that blocks second-hand smoke from wafting out into the open. The ring-shaped hood gradually collects the [tobacco haze](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/unsmoke) while [filtering through clean air](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/airsancta) for those inside. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 4.4/10 - Popularity: 58% | Activity: 66% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 50% men, 50% women - Primary generations: Millennial, Gen X - Top markets: North America, Europe, Asia ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Art & Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/artdesign) > [Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/design) ## Key Themes ### What Makes This Trend Stand Out - **Air Wall System:** Invisible semi-enclosures for smokers - **Hi-tech Parasols:** Smart concepts for outdoor smoking areas - **Downward-forced Air:** Innovative technology for smoking barriers ### Sectors Adopting This - **Hospitality:** Creating outdoor smoking areas with invisible barriers - **Public Transportation:** Implementing smoking solutions in train station platforms - **Construction:** Incorporating Air Wall systems into building entrances ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Clamping Windproof Ashtrays](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/clamping-windproof-ashtray.md) - [Air-Cleaning Office Partitions](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/partition-air-purifier.md) - [Artistic Public Air Sterilizers](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/venue-smart-commercial-air-sanitisation-device.md) - [AI-Powered Smoke Detectors](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/vape-detectors.md) - [Patented Smoke-Cooling Pipes](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/weedgets-mazex-pipe.md) - [Air-Blowing Face Masks](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/air-mask.md) - [Nicotine-Detecting Wearables](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/skinworn-sensor.md) - [Smoke-Free Fire Pits](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/portable-smokeless-fire-pit.md) - [At-Home Cocktail Smokers](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/electric-cocktail-smoker.md)
