# Dry Shower Concepts The Air Shower is Designed to Make Towels a Thing of the Past By Michael Hines | Published 2013-06-14 | Art & Design Source: Trend Hunter, https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/air-shower References: [tuvie](http://www.tuvie.com/air-shower-washer-and-dryer-shower-system-reduces-bath-towel-washing/) & [coroflot](http://www.coroflot.com/adri1lef) Towels may forever become a thing of the past if the Air Shower goes from concept to reality. Designer Adrien Lefebvre has created a shower that can dry you off without the need for a towel. The shower has two functions: the first of which is to act like a [normal shower](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/showerclear). Its second function sucks out the wet air and spits out dry air, allowing you to air dry. The shower head of the Air Shower can even function as a [hair dryer](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/pilot-ai-hair-dryer). While towels aren't the world's biggest inconvenience, there are other reasons why a [self-drying shower](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/upfall-shower) should be created. Condensation can damage tiles and drywall, and mold breeds in wet areas. The Air Shower would make home upkeep and life a whole lot easier. Sorry, towels. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 2.6/10 - Popularity: 48% | Activity: 22% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 50% men, 50% women - Primary generations: Millennial, Gen X - Top markets: North America, Europe ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Art & Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/artdesign) > [Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/design) ## Key Themes ### Key Themes Behind This Trend - **Air Shower Technology:** There's a chance for a new shower using air technology that dries off the water without the need of a towel, and it could disrupt the towel and linen industry. - **Smart Bathrooms:** With the development of innovative showers to offer new ways for people to dry off, there's a growing opportunity for a new trend of smart bathrooms which could include more features for consumer convenience. - **Sustainability in Bathrooms:** The creation of the Air Shower technology has the potential to provide more eco-friendly options to consumers and could disrupt opportunities for the linen and washing machine industries. ### Where This Applies - **Towel Industry:** The Air Shower could become a popular alternative to traditional towels, disrupting the towel industry and providing an alternative product for consumers to use. - **Bathroom Fittings Industry:** This innovation could give a new life to the bathroom industry that has been operating much in the same way for years.
