Air quality is only getting worse in metropolitan areas, so the 'Urban Canary' air pollution sensor is intended to offer children a way to learn about it in a more interactive manner.
The device works by incorporating a sensor on the top portion along with an LED that will change from green to red if it is exposed to high levels of pollution. This information is then relayed to the accompanying app in order to let users track where they go and the quality of the air that they breathe.
The 'Urban Canary' air pollution sensor is the design work of Daniel Goddemeyer, David Schellnegger and Brynn Shepherd, and is an effective way for children to learn about the environment and how to better exist within it.
