Artificial Intelligence is quickly booming in the travel industry but [InterContinental Hotels & Resorts](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/eden-esports) is the first to create AI-powered hotel rooms. Teaming up with tech giant [Baidu](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/baidu-1), these new hotel rooms go beyond basic voice assistants that can only act when prompted with specific instructions. Instead, the AI-powered hotel rooms are capable of recognizing a myriad of phrases ranging from questions to commands, and even basic statements.

InterContinental Hotels & Resorts aims to introduce 100 of these AI-powered hotel rooms within the following year, which will primarily be located at key destinations and gateway cities across China. The ultimate goal of the AI is to enhance guest experiences, while also engaging customers seamlessly with technology.
