German start-up Containerwerk provides an affordable housing solution in the form of re-purposed sea cargo containers. Debuted at Milan Design Week, the project is not only cost-effective and space-economic, it is also absolutely environmentally friendly.

Containerwerk is an example of an entrepreneurial business that sets its focus on a singular issue and brainstorms how to appeal to a more ecologically and socially sustainable future. For its affordable housing solution, Containerwerk strikes the perfect balance between modernity and industrialism. The metal containers entertain a cheerful chromatic exterior and the start-up ensures that the structures are suitable for living by using a multi-patented insulation technique. Due to their practicality, the [shipping containers](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/teeny-tiny-haus) can be appropriated as student or bachelor apartments, as well as [small co-working spaces](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/salt-hq) or summer sublets.
