The wonderful thing about this graceful dining chair is that its form looks meant-to-be. Its construction requires [no nails, screws or glues](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/slide-table-1) to stay together, relying quite remarkably on one component slotting through the other. Just [two pieces of elegantly bent wood](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/miko-armchair) compose the luxurious perch. One becomes the seat and a pair of rear legs while the other acts as an arching backrest and a single front support. Jean-Francois Roulon's AERO Chair bears and distributes weight subtly through the overlap of the sinuous splicing elements. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 3.4/10 - Popularity: 61% | Activity: 33% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 50% men, 50% women - Primary generations: Millennial, Gen X - Top markets: Europe ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Art & Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/artdesign) > [Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/design) ## Key Themes ### What's Driving This Trend - **Adhesive-free Furniture:** The AERO Chair demonstrates the trend of adhesive-free furniture design, showing opportunities for other furniture makers to create sturdy and elegant pieces without the use of traditional adhesives. - **Simplified Assembly:** The AERO Chair showcases the trend of simplified assembly in furniture design, highlighting the potential for other manufacturers to create products that can be easily put together without the need for nails, screws, or glues. - **Effortless Design:** The AERO Chair exemplifies the trend of effortless design in furniture, suggesting opportunities for designers to create visually appealing and functional pieces that appear both natural and easy to use. ### Who This Affects Most - **Furniture Manufacturing:** The furniture manufacturing industry can explore opportunities to incorporate adhesive-free designs and simplified assembly techniques, inspired by the AERO Chair, to create innovative and consumer-friendly products. - **Interior Design:** Interior designers can leverage the trend of adhesive-free furniture and effortless design showcased by the AERO Chair to create unique and visually striking spaces that promote a sense of ease and sophistication. - **Sustainable Materials:** The AERO Chair's use of elegantly bent wood presents opportunities for the sustainable materials industry to develop and promote eco-friendly alternatives to traditional furniture construction, furthering the trend of environmentally conscious design. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Structurally Complex Chair Designs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/the-arch-chair.md) - [Plywood Sculptural Chairs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/mt-chair.md) - [Stackable Screw-Free Chair Designs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/the-stack-chair.md) - [Simplistically Elegant Structural Chairs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/dopio.md) - [Chic Single-Piece Plywood Chairs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/void-lounge-chair.md) - [Singular Metal Sheet-Made Chairs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/fold-chair.md) - [Floating Component Dining Chairs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/floating-top-chair.md) - [Ultra-Minimal Stool Designs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/sedeo-chair.md) - [Liberating Sleek Office Chairs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/arba-chair.md)
