Although Aerie has been ahead of the game with it comes to showing consumers unedited images of models for its campaigns, its 'Aerie Real Me Collection' aims to take this a step further by increasing the availability of more diverse nude underwear options.
In the past, many brands limited their definition of nude to cater to white consumers, excluding others and spreading a negative message as a result. In order to help adjust this, the Aerie Real Me Collection boasts five new shades of nude. In addition, the pieces are priced affordably and are available in sizes up to XXL and DDD.
Aerie's global brand president, Jennifer Foyle, explained the collection by saying, "We are so excited about the Real Me Collection because it goes beyond color—not only are we offering a beautiful palette that includes a wide range of nudes, but the amazing second-skin soft fabric of these bras lets you feel like your real self."
