# DIY Advent Calendar Bunting This Homemade Advent Calendar Garland is Festive and Celebratory By Alyson Wyers | Published 2015-11-30 | Art & Design Source: Trend Hunter, https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/advent-calendar-garland References: [buzzfeed](http://www.buzzfeed.com/peggy/33-clever-and-adorable-diy-advent-calendars) & [snug-online.blogspot](http://snug-online.blogspot.ca/) This DIY [advent calendar](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/momcozy-big-hugs) garland has a definitively celebratory feel to it, which is perfect if you celebrate Christmas as the birthday of Jesus Christ. From the SNUG.STUDIO blog, the homemade bunting doubles as a [holiday countdown](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/advent-campaign). The simple craft is made with twine and differently colored bits of triangular paper. You then affix numbers 1 through 24 (representing the days leading up to Christmas Day) in a random order. You can either write a nice message or explain what corresponds with that particular day. This could be easily used to create instructions for a festive scavenger hunt or something similarly creative. In a like vein, you could go with a blue color scheme or customize it to make it your own. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 1.3/10 - Popularity: 15% | Activity: 15% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 30% men, 70% women - Primary generations: Gen Z, Millennial - Top markets: North America, Europe ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Art & Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/artdesign) > [DIY](https://www.trendhunter.com/diy) ## Key Themes ### What Makes This Trend Stand Out - **DIY Advent Calendar:** Opportunity for businesses to offer DIY advent calendar kits or customizable advent calendar products. - **Holiday Countdown Crafts:** Potential for businesses to create and sell various holiday countdown craft kits. - **Festive Scavenger Hunts:** Creation of innovative scavenger hunt experiences incorporating advent calendar elements. ### Sectors Adopting This - **Craft and DIY:** Craft and DIY industry can capitalize on the demand for DIY advent calendar crafts and kits. - **Gift and Home Decor:** Gift and home decor industry can create and sell unique advent calendar products and decor. - **Event and Experience:** Event and experience industry can develop immersive scavenger hunt experiences during the holiday season. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Flatpack Advent Calendars](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/vinterfint-advent-calendar.md) - [Bookish Advent Calendars](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/advent-calendar-for-book-lovers.md) - [Festive Dog-Friendly Countdowns](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/bark-seasons-treatings.md) - [Brainteaser Advent Calendars](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/project-genius-advent-calendar.md) - [Game-Building Advent Calendars](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/electronic-games-advent-calendar.md) - [Custom Holiday Countdowns](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/purrfect-advent-calendar.md) - [Demure Dartboard Advent Calendars](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/jo-malone-london-advent-calendar-2025.md) - [Festive Holiday-Themed Calendars](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/luxurious-holiday-advent-calendars.md) - [Scented Candle Advent Calendars](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/yankee-candle-advent-calendar.md)
