# Surrealist Lightbulb Art Adrian Limani Encapsulates His Imagination in a Lightbulb By Ariel Weber | Published 2013-01-16 | Art & Design Source: Trend Hunter, https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/adrian-limani References: [mymodernmet](http://www.mymodernmet.com/profiles/blogs/adrian-limani-lightbulbs-photography) & [adrianlimani](http://www.adrianlimani.com/) Photographer Adrian Limani sets his [surrealist art](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/shapes-of-light) apart from the others by taking pictures from the world and boxing them into lightbulbs. The self-taught photographer captures images from both still life and nature that not only catches his attention but, which also inspires him. At times, Limani infuses two or three images together to create one picture, which he then places inside the lightbulbs. For some, the lightbulb is considered to be a symbol for the beginning of new ideas or could even be interpreted in terms of the lightbulb being able to be illuminated and come alive. Resembling snow globes, the photos exhibit artifacts from real life that are tightly capsulated within [glass domes](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/larose-guyon). Just like his pieces of art, Adrian Limani takes a very interesting viewpoint to making art. As he explains, "You need less imagination to be a painter because you can invent things. But in photography everything is so ordinary; it takes a lot of looking before you learn to see the extraordinary." ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 4.3/10 - Popularity: 65% | Activity: 55% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 50% men, 50% women - Primary generations: Gen Z, Millennial - Top markets: North America, Europe ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Art & Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/artdesign) > [Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/design) ## Key Themes ### Key Themes Behind This Trend - **Surrealist Lightbulb Art:** Turning ordinary objects into unique and encapsulated art pieces by framing them inside a light bulb-like glass container. - **Still-life-inspired Photography:** Incorporating multiple nature-inspired images to create a new viewpoint for still-life photography. - **Sculptural Photography:** Adding a three-dimensional element to classic photography and capturing the world in a new way. ### Where This Applies - **Art:** Innovative and unique approach to traditional photography, creating a market for alternative artforms. - **Home Decor:** Adding a new and unique decor piece that can create ambience and conversation with guests. - **Gifts and Souvenirs:** Creating a unique and affordable gifting opportunity that showcases art, decor and photography all in one. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Statement Street Art](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/surreal-street-art-1.md) - [Ethereal Oil Lamp Systems](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/a-realm-of-light.md) - [Physics-Based Artful Light Capsules](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/aura-collection-1.md) - [Bubble-Inspired Pendant Lights](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/bubbles-lighting-design.md) - [Tree Branch-Formed Lighting Series](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/celestial-attraction.md) - [Artfully Liquid-Like Light Collections](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/cairn-lamp.md) - [Painting-Immersive Photo Exhibits](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/new-ground-exhibition.md) - [Air Balloon-Inspired Lamp Concepts](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/air-balloon-lamp.md) - [Balloon-Like Lighting Series](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/soft-blown.md)
