Replacing the popular GALANT series, the BEKANT professional series has a number of options with a [sit/stand format](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/herman-miller-spout). The BEKANT desks come in a variety of different styles and sizes. The adjustable standing desk can be situated to meet an individual's height and needs. They also easily group together in an open office setting. Two models include screens for added privacy (they also double as notice boards). For a fully coordinated look, there is also a line of matching BEKANT storage available from IKEA. Designed by Karl Malmvall and Eva Lilja Lowenhielm, the furniture intends to have flexible combinations that, as PSFK puts it, "encourage collaborations, meetings and creativity." ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 3.8/10 - Popularity: 60% | Activity: 46% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 50% men, 50% women - Primary generations: Millennial, Gen X - Top markets: North America, Europe, Asia ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Art & Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/artdesign) > [Furniture](https://www.trendhunter.com/furniture) ## Key Themes ### Why This Trend Is Growing - **Adjustable Standing Desks:** Opportunity for disruptive innovation: Develop customizable and ergonomic standing desk solutions for various work environments. - **Sit/stand Desks:** Opportunity for disruptive innovation: Create versatile desk designs that seamlessly transition between sitting and standing positions, promoting active workstyles. - **Collaborative Office Furniture:** Opportunity for disruptive innovation: Invent modular and adaptable office furniture that fosters collaboration, creativity, and flexible work arrangements. ### Industries Being Reshaped - **Furniture Manufacturing:** Opportunity for disruptive innovation: Incorporate advanced materials and smart technologies into furniture manufacturing processes to create dynamic and multifunctional pieces. - **Office Supply Retail:** Opportunity for disruptive innovation: Introduce innovative and user-friendly desk solutions to the market, catering to the growing demand for ergonomic and collaborative workspace designs. - **Workspace Design Consulting:** Opportunity for disruptive innovation: Provide expertise in crafting dynamic and adaptable workspaces that enhance productivity, health, and teamwork among employees. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Floor-Sit Desk Designs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/uppeal-desk-lshaped.md) - [Adjustable Ergonomic Desks](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/croft-sitstand.md) - [Dual-Section Standing Desks](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/dual-lift-desk.md) - [Adjustable Modern Work Desks](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/spout.md) - [Stealthy Minimal Adjustable Desks](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/tenon-smart-adjustable-desk.md) - [Ergonomic Multi-Use Desk Furniture](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/kabinett-desk.md) - [Wirelessly Adjustable Standing Desks](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/chakram-heightadjustable-standing-desk.md) - [Stylish Adjustable Standing Desks](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/athena-standing-desk.md) - [Adjustable Laptop Desk Devices](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/sitstand-desk1.md)
