# Adjustable Console-Charging Stands The Adjustable Charging Stand for Nintendo Switch Extends Play By Joey Haar | Published 2018-05-11 | Tech Source: Trend Hunter, https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/adjustable-charging-stand References: [techcrunch](https://techcrunch.com/2018/05/09/nintendos-20-charging-stand-finally-fixes-the-switchs-kickstand-problem/) & [nintendo](https://www.nintendo.com/switch/buy-now/#adjustable-charging-stand) Part of what made the [Nintendo](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/joy-con-charging-dock) [Switch](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/nitro-deck) such a hit as a console is the fact that it can nimbly alternate between a home device and a portable system, and the new adjustable charging stand promises to make that changeable quality even more practical. The gaming peripheral, which was recently announced by Nintendo via the company's [Twitter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/createmybanner-1) channel, lets users play in tabletop mode while freeing themselves from the forced angle of the built-in kickstand. While both plugging the Switch into a TV or taking it on the go as a handheld device have received rave reviews from users, the third play option -- using it in tabletop mode and removing the Joy-Cons without connecting to an external visual -- has been a bit clunky. The adjustable charging stand makes playing more user-friendly while also charging the device at the same time. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 2.5/10 - Popularity: 53% | Activity: 15% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 50% men, 50% women - Primary generations: Gen Z, Gen Alpha, Millennial - Top markets: North America, Europe, Asia ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Tech](https://www.trendhunter.com/tech) > [Games](https://www.trendhunter.com/games) ## Key Themes ### Why This Trend Is Growing - **Portable Gaming:** The trend of portable gaming is growing with the introduction of adjustable console-charging stands, offering more convenient gameplay on the go. - **Multifunctional Accessories:** The rise of multifunctional accessories like adjustable charging stands provides opportunities for innovative products that enhance user experience and address specific pain points. - **Convenient Gaming Accessories:** The demand for convenient gaming accessories, such as adjustable charging stands, presents an opportunity for companies to develop practical solutions that enhance gameplay and user comfort. ### Industries Being Reshaped - **Gaming Accessories:** The gaming accessories industry can capitalize on the introduction of adjustable console-charging stands by creating innovative products that cater to the needs of both portable and console gamers. - **Consumer Electronics:** The consumer electronics industry can leverage the popularity of the Nintendo Switch and the demand for adjustable charging stands to create new products and accessories for versatile gaming experiences. - **Mobile Gaming:** The mobile gaming industry can benefit from the trend of adjustable charging stands by offering complementary products and accessories that enhance the convenience and usability of gaming on mobile devices. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Dedicated Controller Charging Solutions](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/joy-con-charging-dock.md) - [Gaming Charging Cases](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/charging-case-pro.md) - [Portable Console Docking Stations](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/nitro-deck.md) - [Tracker-Friendly Gaming Console Cases](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/belkin-charging-case-for-nintendo-switch-2.md) - [Quad-Controller Charging Stations](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/hyperx-chargeplay-quad-2.md) - [Arcade-Style Console Docks](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/mini-arcade-pro.md) - [Portability-Focused Handheld Consoles](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/razer-6.md) - [Ergonomic Mobile Console Concepts](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/conceptual-nintendo-switch-2.md) - [Electronic Gaming Accessories Lineups](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/nintendo-console.md)
