The topic is very rarely discussed, but the reality persists: Overweight people have serious trouble using [ordinary toilets](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/smart-toilets). As a response, North Carolina-based entrepreneurs developed the Adjustable Advantage, which features wings that expand to fit posteriors of any size and a seat design that can sustain half a ton of weight. The product will set your company back $180 and includes a lifetime warranty -- not bad for a toilet seat that can withstand more weight than the actual toilet. The Adjustable Advantage isn't simply for overweight customers; it's also proven helpful for [pregnant women](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/high-chair), people living with sciatic nerve complications and hospital patients. Personally, I'm excited because I won't have to lift the seat with this device -- I can just slide it to the side. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 1.9/10 - Popularity: 16% | Activity: 33% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 50% men, 50% women - Primary generations: Millennial - Top markets: North America, Europe ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Art & Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/artdesign) > [Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/design) ## Key Themes ### What Makes This Trend Stand Out - **Inclusive Seating Solutions:** The Adjustable Advantage toilet seat demonstrates the trend of creating inclusive seating solutions that accommodate individuals of different sizes and needs. - **Enhanced Support and Durability:** The Adjustable Advantage showcases the trend of developing products with enhanced support and durability, capable of withstanding heavier weights and providing long-term use. - **Multi-purpose Design:** The Adjustable Advantage toilet seat exemplifies the trend towards multi-purpose design, offering benefits to a wide range of users beyond just overweight individuals. ### Sectors Adopting This - **Bathroom Fixtures:** The Adjustable Advantage toilet seat presents disruptive innovation opportunities in the bathroom fixtures industry by catering to a previously underserved market segment. - **Healthcare:** The Adjustable Advantage has potential disruptive innovation opportunities in the healthcare industry, as it addresses the needs of pregnant women, patients with medical conditions, and individuals with limited mobility. - **Home Furnishings:** The Adjustable Advantage creates disruptive innovation opportunities in the home furnishings industry by introducing a versatile and durable toilet seat that provides comfort and convenience for users of all sizes. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Size-Inclusive Weight Scales](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/premium-wide-base-weight-scale.md) - [Sturdy Bathroom Stools](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/medical-stepping-foot-stool.md) - [Feature-Packed Smart Toilets](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/neolet.md) - [Heavy-Duty Office Chairs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/heavyduty-office-chair.md) - [Antimicrobial Toilet Seats](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/antimicrobial-toilet-seats.md) - [Height-Adjustable Toolbox Stools](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/sk3-sidekick-stool.md) - [Automated Maintenance Toilet Seats](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/icleaningo-bidet-toilet-seat-dc02.md) - [Health Tracker Toilet Clips](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/throne-one.md) - [Smart Toilet Designs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/smart-toilets.md)
