Harper's Bazaar's September 2015 issue boasts a series of retro actress portraits of Empire star Taraji P. Henson. Henson is lensed by legendary photographer Michael Avedon in the shoot, titled 'Fortune Cookie.'
Borrowing her inspiration from the 60s, stylist Ann Caruso dresses her muse in an animal printed wardrobe of elegant and simple frocks. The actress also dons structured coats that boast a consistent leopard print and even pulls off matching hats that are evocative of another era.
Hair styling for this series of actress portraits is courtesy of Tomi Kono who creates retro and voluminous looks for the editorial's star. He works alongside makeup artist Sammy Mourabit who also looks to the past for his inspiration when creating Taraji P. Henson's cosmetic applications.
