This example of acoustic architecture is a beautiful mix of algorithms and acoustics. Designed by [LMN Architects](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/lmn-architect) and Neumann Monson Architects, the new [University of Iowa Voxman School of Music](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/leed-v4-goldrated-schoenecker-center) building contains classrooms, offices and a communal lounge area as well intimate rehearsal spaces, a 200 seat recital hall and a concert hall that seats 700. One of the most notable features of the six storey and 184,000 square foot building is an acoustic reflector that hangs from the ceiling in the concert hall.

The architects used algorithmic design to ensure everything sounds perfect. There are several examples of "algorithmically mediated balancing acts between acoustic performance and architectural design" according to [Fast Company's](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/aluminum-outdoor-furniture) CoDesign. This includes acoustic architecture elements like custom wall panels.
