# Sound and Light Labyrinths ACK Defines Human Space by Bamboo and Metal By Andrew Robichaud | Published 2009-06-30 | Art & Design Source: Trend Hunter, https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/ack References: [yankodesign](http://www.yankodesign.com/2009/06/30/what-is-ack/) & [pierandreiassociati.it](http://www.pierandreiassociati.it/) In a world of clutter and sight, our space is often undefined or limited when it is defined. The ‘ACK’ exhibit by Pierandrei Associati (Milanese Practice) defines human space by a labyrinth of [suspended bamboo and metal tubing](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/echoes-of-the-deep). Visitors come and venture through the tubing to create a [festival of light and sound](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/feel-the-sound) with every bit of contact (you are allowed to touch them; like fingers running through hair). The abstract adventure through the [hanging art](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/spencer-finch) allows you to get lost in conceptual thoughts and it provokes conceptual feelings that were unspoken until now. Many visitors leave a small message sometimes for themselves and sometimes for visitors to come. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 1.4/10 - Popularity: 17% | Activity: 18% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 50% men, 50% women - Primary generations: Millennial, Gen X - Top markets: North America, Europe, Asia ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Art & Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/artdesign) > [Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/design) ## Key Themes ### What Makes This Trend Stand Out - **Sound and Light Labyrinths:** Creating immersive experiences in physical spaces with interactive sound and light installations. - **Suspended Bamboo and Metal Tubing:** Using natural materials suspended in unexpected ways to create impactful art installations. - **Human Space Definition:** Creating innovative ways to define and enhance human space through interactive art installations. ### Sectors Adopting This - **Art and Design:** Opportunities to create experiential art installations that explore the relationship between humans, space, and technology. - **Architecture and Interior Design:** Innovative use of natural materials and spatial configuration to create more immersive and meaningful environments. - **Entertainment and Events:** Creating interactive installations that enhance the attendee experience and create unique memories. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Wonderous Art Installations](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/your-psychoacoustic-light-ensemble.md) - [Warped Acrylic Bar Interiors](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/awt-bar.md) - [Urban Soundscape Installations](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/moment-installation.md) - [Material-Accented Dreamscape Exhibits](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/dreamscape-exhibit.md) - [Intervening Staircase Exhibitions](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/meet-me-here.md) - [Mirrored Hall Visual Installations](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/internamente.md) - [Sensory-Focused Furniture Design Exhibits](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/time-signature.md) - [Futuristic Immersive Lighting Experiences](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/immersive-lighting-experience.md) - [Organic Illuminated Artful Series](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/cages-mobiles-and-rock.md)
