# Imposing Organic Lighting The Accastillage Floor Lamp Looks Like a Vintage Wooden Fishing Cane By Meghan Young | Published 2013-09-27 | Art & Design Source: Trend Hunter, https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/accastillage-floor-lamp References: [trendir](http://www.trendir.com/archives/006898.html) & [roche-bobois](http://www.roche-bobois.com/) In spite of its relatively simple design, the Accastillage Floor Lamp strikes an imposing stance due to its size. A fairly [large cantilevered light fixture](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/alma-light-totem-i) that would be as much at home in a large office at it would in a lofty living area, it straddles the line between a traditional and contemporary aesthetic. Yet although the Accastillage Floor Lamp can be likened to a [vintage wooden fishing cane](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/wooden-soul), it is much more sleek and modern. Designed by Marianne Guedin for the well-known French brand [Roche Bobois](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/bamboo-mood), the Accastillage Floor Lamp is part of the Les Contemporains collection. Measuring a good 205 cm tall, the lamp is available with two different colored lampshades: red or white. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 2.5/10 - Popularity: 48% | Activity: 20% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 50% men, 50% women - Primary generations: Millennial, Gen X - Top markets: Europe ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Art & Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/artdesign) > [Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/design) ## Key Themes ### Why This Trend Is Growing - **Sleek Lighting Designs:** Designers can explore sleek and modern lighting designs that straddle the line between traditional and contemporary aesthetics. - **Large Cantilevered Fixtures:** There is an opportunity to create large cantilevered light fixtures that make a bold statement in both office and residential settings. - **Vintage-inspired Lighting:** There is a trend towards vintage-inspired lighting designs with a modern twist, offering a unique blend of nostalgia and sleekness. ### Industries Being Reshaped - **Interior Design:** Interior design professionals can leverage these trends to create unique lighting solutions for residential and commercial spaces. - **Furniture Manufacturing:** Furniture manufacturers can explore incorporating large cantilevered light fixtures into their product offerings to cater to the demand for bold and statement-making designs. - **Lighting Design:** Lighting designers can draw inspiration from vintage aesthetics and create modern lighting solutions that evoke a sense of nostalgia while being contemporary. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Nature-Inspired Living Space Lights](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/moonlight-floor-lamp.md) - [Suspended Halo Light Fixtures](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/lamplox-minimalist-floor-lamp.md) - [Umbrella-Inspired Whimsical Lamps](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/wasaga-lamp.md) - [Opulent Outdoor Lamp Designs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/gubi-seine-portable-lamp.md) - [Bamboo Forest-Inspired Floor Lamps](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/lightbone.md) - [Contemporary Modular Floor Lamps](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/point-floor-lamp.md) - [Archival Floor Lamps](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/1953-floor-lamp.md) - [Street Light-Inspired Floor Lamps](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/standing-lamp-marble.md) - [Recycled Leather Illuminators](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/corium-standing-floor-lamp.md)
