# Poised Tablet Props The AC iPad Stand Was Built as a Beautiful Sculpture and a Functional Device By Amelia Roblin | Published 2013-03-14 | Art & Design Source: Trend Hunter, https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/ac-ipad-stand References: [tuvie](http://www.tuvie.com/elegant-ac-ipad-stand-by-alex-casabo/) & [alexcasabo](http://www.alexcasabo.com/alex/AC_iPadStand.html) Aesthetics were certainly considered in the design of the AC iPad Stand, for this product is just as beautiful as it is useful. Sculpted to form a shallow trough, the elegant electronics accessory puts your beloved tablet on display. Àlex Casabò used high-quality dark wood for half of the gadget holder, uniting it with an [lustrous aluminum component](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/industrial-bookstand) at beveled edges. The groove runs smoothly across both segments until it terminates in the timber at an [integrated speaker](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/sonique). You'll still require your regular [charging cable to power up](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/magnetic-charging-stand) your device as it sits, but the AC iPad Stand can increase the volume of your media without any need for additional equipment. It strikes a stunning harmony of both pretty and practical. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 6.1/10 - Popularity: 91% | Activity: 85% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 50% men, 50% women - Primary generations: Millennial, Gen X - Top markets: North America, Europe ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Art & Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/artdesign) > [Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/design) ## Key Themes ### Key Themes Behind This Trend - **Functional Sculptural Accessories:** There is an opportunity to create more accessories that are both beautiful and useful, similar to the AC iPad Stand. - **Integrated Speaker Technology:** The integration of speakers into tech accessories such as tablet stands presents a disruptive innovation opportunity. - **High-quality Materials in Tech Accessories:** More tech accessories could benefit from the use of high-quality materials, as seen in the AC iPad Stand. ### Where This Applies - **Consumer Electronics:** The consumer electronics industry could benefit from the development of more functional sculptural accessories. - **Home Decor:** Home decor companies could tap into the market of tech accessories by creating stylish products such as the AC iPad Stand. - **Audio Technology:** The integration of speakers into tech accessories could lead to disruptive innovation opportunities for the audio technology industry. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Sculptural Headphone Stands](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/arco.md) - [Structurally Artful Laptop Stands](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/yohann.md) - [High-End Design Smartphone Docks](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/magsafe-iphone-stand.md) - [Elegant Headphone Display Stands](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/headphone-stand-with-wireless-charger.md) - [Timber Smartwatch Charging Mounts](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/charging-apple-watch-stand.md) - [Haute Tubular Laptop Stands](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/bookarc-flex-macbook-stand.md) - [Cement-Made Smartphone Stands](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/artifox-monument.md) - [Laser-Cut Acrylic Charging Stands](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/electric-trout.md) - [Minimalist Dual-Device Chargers](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/casetify-powerthru-2in1-charging-stand.md)
