# Fused Abstract Illustrations David Habben's Abstract Illustrations are Created Within Shapes By Paul Maccarone | Published 2013-08-04 | Art & Design Source: Trend Hunter, https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/abstract-illustrations References: [designtaxi](http://designtaxi.com/news/359763/Dynamic-Drawings-of-People-Created-From-The-Outline-Of-Abstract-Shapes/) & [thecreativefinder](http://thecreativefinder.com/portfolio-full.php?username=habbenink) In a clever twist to traditional artistic interpretation, the abstract illustrations from 'David Habben' challenge the artist to push his imagination to the next level by using self-created boundaries. The intricately unreal creations meld together a monstrous amount of detail that ranges from [ghoulish creatures](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/surreal-street-art-1) to paralyzing humans. Habben starts with an abstract shape and then proceeds to use that shape to inspire the illustrations within it. This results in wildly imaginative abstract illustrations that can literally be seen multiple times without being able to notice all of the detailed drawings within them. It's concepts like these that twist the rules of [abstract art](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/ripples-collection) because the boundaries set upon Habben are usually a taboo choice within the genre. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 2.9/10 - Popularity: 57% | Activity: 23% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 50% men, 50% women - Primary generations: Millennial - Top markets: North America ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Art & Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/artdesign) > [Modern](https://www.trendhunter.com/modern) ## Key Themes ### Why This Trend Is Growing - **Abstract Illustrations:** Opportunity for artists to create abstract illustrations using self-created boundaries. - **Imaginative Art:** Encourages artists to push their imagination to the next level, resulting in wildly creative artworks. - **Detailed Drawings:** Promotes the integration of intricate details in artworks, providing viewers with a multi-layered experience. ### Industries Being Reshaped - **Art and Design:** Innovations in abstract illustrations open new possibilities in the art and design industry. - **Publishing and Printing:** Abstract illustrations with intricate details can be used in book covers, magazines, and other printed materials. - **Digital Media and Advertising:** Opportunity for artists to create visually captivating abstract illustrations for digital marketing campaigns and advertisements. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Abstract Fantasy Home Exhibitions](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/abstract-fantasy-home.md) - [Geometric Sculpture Boxes](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/illusion-box.md) - [Digital Archetype Sculptures](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/christian-rex-van-minnen-1.md) - [Vibrantly Colorful Dynamic Artwork](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/kayla-rumpp.md) - [AI-Generated Real-World Transformations](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/ai-generated-world.md) - [Limited Humorous Art Prints](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/david-shrigley-1.md) - [Dynamic Mathematically Shaped Surfaces](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/mathematically-shaped.md) - [AI-Generated Retrofuturistic Objects](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/retrofuturistic-objects.md) - [Human Embraced-Inspired Sculptures](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/wallmounted-sculpture.md)
