Color-Matching BIPOC Skincare Essentials

AbsoluteJOI Released a 2-in-1 Moisturizer and Sunscreen

AbsoluteJOI launched a color-matching combination sunscreen and moisturizer for melanin-rich skin. The new skincare product aims to address and eliminate white cast–leftover sunscreen streaks–that is typical of standard sunscreen brands on darker skin tones. With its rich moisturizing cream and SPF 40+ sunscreen, it blocks both harmful UV rays as well as hyperpigmentation-causing high energy visible (HEV) blue light.

The Black-and female-owned beauty brand taps into the developing inclusive skincare industry to market toward women of color. The skincare formula, developed by Black female physician and brand owner, Dr. Anne Beal, follows up on the push toward clean beauty. The product is packed full of plant-based ingredients such as extracts from green tea, plankton, and chamomile, and comes in two inclusive colors: mocha and cafe au lait. It's currently available for preorder and will begin shipping on June 1st.
