Thank God the inventors described it and provided a video, because I have no words for this awesomeness of a complicated machine. Dan Paluska and Jeff Lieberman have created the "ABSOLUT QUARTET", an "automated multi-instrumental orchestral machine, a [large-scale electromechanical sculpture](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/arrakis-30) consisting of three instruments and thousands of parts, working together to create one piece of music. The main timbre is a [marimba played by balls](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/balls-in-concert) shot from a robotic cannon. Other components include a series of wineglasses played by little robotic fingers and an array of robotic percussive instruments". Ok? Watch the video already. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 3.8/10 - Popularity: 24% | Activity: 81% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 50% men, 50% women - Primary generations: Millennial, Gen X - Top markets: North America, Europe, Asia ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Unique](https://www.trendhunter.com/unique) > [Inventions](https://www.trendhunter.com/inventions) ## Key Themes ### Why This Trend Is Growing - **Robotic Music:** Opportunity for disruptive innovation in creating automated orchestral machines that combine various instruments controlled by robots. - **Electromechanical Sculpture:** Innovative potential lies in creating large-scale sculptures that integrate mechanical and electronic elements to generate interactive and immersive experiences. - **Robotic Instruments:** Opportunity for disruptive innovation in developing new robotic instruments that can produce unique sounds and performances. ### Industries Being Reshaped - **Music Technology:** Disruptive innovation opportunities in the music tech industry by merging robotics and musical instruments to create novel and automated musical experiences. - **Art Installation:** Opportunity for disruptive innovation in the art world by combining mechanical and electronic components to create interactive and visually striking sculptures. - **Entertainment Technology:** Potential for disruptive innovation in entertainment technology by integrating robotic instruments and automation to enhance live performances and create unique experiences. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Water Movement Sculptural Instruments](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/inner-waves.md) - [Interactive Music Systems](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/sound-maestro.md) - [Kinetic Art Objects](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/la-machine.md) - [Tape Deck Instruments](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/magnetic-folklore.md) - [Movement-Evoking Audio Visualizers](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/favle22.md) - [AI Beer Vending Machines](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/beer-vending-machines.md) - [Beer-Dispensing Guitar Machines](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/slay-to-pay.md) - [AI-Powered Music Systems](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/ai-music-synthesizer.md) - [Unique Timekeeping Devices](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/unique-timekeeping-device.md)
