A group of anonymous artists from New York City recently transformed an abandoned [KFC](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/kfc-staycation) into a functional film studio. With more independent artists creating original content, this project serves as a budget-friendly alternative to renting studio time.

The abandoned KFC is located in Brooklyn, New York, where it now serves as a public film studio. The defunct drive-through has been converted into a giant greenscreen that allows anyone with basic film-editing knowledge to create their own special effects. The space can be used by anyone, making film-making more accessible for those with low budgets.

Although the makeshift film studio is the first of its kind, other abandoned building could easily be retrofitted for the same purpose. As a result, the project demonstrates a creative way to help the community benefit from unused spaces.
