The street artist skillfully captures the juxtaposed urban neglect within jungle settings. These lonely hoops from his [various travels](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/all-within-the-detour) are beautifully shot. Despite being in sunny and bright environments, the abandoned and decrepit feel still comes through. One might be more accustomed to seeing an abandoned basketball court in an inner city area, so the green leafy foliage is an unexpected backdrop. In some shots the hoops have clearly been left unused for some time. In others perhaps they're only made out of found materials. Most feature rusting rims and chipped wood backdrops. While Skenderovic's intentions and inspirations for this collection are unclear, this work makes him a street artist worth watching out for. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 2.7/10 - Popularity: 49% | Activity: 24% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 50% men, 50% women - Primary generations: Gen Z, Millennial, Gen X - Top markets: North America, Europe, Asia ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Lifestyle](https://www.trendhunter.com/lifestyle) > [Sports](https://www.trendhunter.com/sports) ## Key Themes ### Why This Trend Is Growing - **Abandoned Basketball Courts:** Disruptive innovation opportunity: Creating unique experiences by transforming abandoned basketball courts into art installations or community gathering spaces. - **Juxtaposed Urban Neglect:** Disruptive innovation opportunity: Developing sustainable urban revitalization strategies that integrate neglected areas with natural environments, creating harmonious and visually striking landscapes. - **Found Materials Art:** Disruptive innovation opportunity: Promoting creativity and environmental sustainability by encouraging artists to create artwork using repurposed or found materials, highlighting the concept of art as recycling. ### Industries Being Reshaped - **Art Installation:** Disruptive innovation opportunity: Incorporating abandoned basketball courts into art installations that blend urban neglect with natural elements, offering unique cultural and visual experiences. - **Urban Revitalization:** Disruptive innovation opportunity: Implementing sustainable urban design strategies that transform neglected areas into vibrant and ecologically-conscious spaces, nurturing community engagement and well-being. - **Eco-friendly Art:** Disruptive innovation opportunity: Supporting artists and organizations that promote eco-friendly art practices, showcasing the beauty of repurposed and found materials as a sustainable alternative in the art industry. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Basketball-Inspired Public Art Installations](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/cj-hendry1.md) - [Artist-Inspired Dynamic Basketballs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/round21.md) - [Empowering Artful Basketball Courts](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/na-chainkua-reindorf.md) - [Museum-Run Basketball Courts](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/museumrun-basketball-court.md) - [Contemporary Permanent Art Displays](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/hoops-tree.md) - [Flood-Smart Basketball Courts](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/grain-collective.md) - [Public Art Displays](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/paul-anthony-smith.md) - [Artfully Crafted Basketball Games](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/home-court-1.md) - [Fluid Basketball-Net Art Sculptures](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/swimming-pools-and-bubblegum.md)
