# Graceful Nautical Giants Aaron Deneweth Imbues Artwork with Vitality By Andrew Robertson | Published 2012-06-01 | Art & Design Source: Trend Hunter, https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/aaron-deneweth References: [etsy](http://www.etsy.com/shop/AARONDENEWETH?ref=top_trail) & [notcot.org](http://www.notcot.org/post/48208/) Animation and a sense of life are beautifully portrayed in Aaron Deneweth's artwork. Many of the paintings use a distinct color palette of red and blue, opposites which the artist is able to blend together to create a complementary visual effect. Deneweth's illustrations range from [nautical themed](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/sail-light) to somewhat ancestral/tribal illustrations, all of which articulate an impression of vitality and flow. What is particularly impressive is the artist's ability to illustrate something frightening (a ship being attacked by a [giant squid](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/marine-ecosystem-sculptures)) in an almost soothing manner. When looking at Deneweth's paintings one can almost witness the eloquent [gliding motion](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/optical-flow) of the artist's tools as they drift across the page, elevating both artist and art to a state of transcendental grace. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 1.2/10 - Popularity: 22% | Activity: 6% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 50% men, 50% women - Primary generations: Millennial, Gen X - Top markets: North America ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Art & Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/artdesign) ## Key Themes ### What's Driving This Trend - **Animation in Artwork:** Using animation techniques in traditional artwork to create a dynamic and visually engaging experience. - **Distinct Color Palettes:** Experimenting with unique combinations of colors to create complementary visual effects in artwork. - **Blending Opposite Themes:** Artistically combining contrasting themes to evoke new emotions and perspectives in artwork. ### Who This Affects Most - **Fine Arts:** Exploring new artistic techniques and styles to push the boundaries of traditional artwork and attract a wider audience. - **Entertainment:** Incorporating animation and visual effects inspired by traditional artwork into films, animations, and video games to enhance audience engagement. - **Interior Design:** Utilizing distinct color palettes and blended themes seen in artwork to create unique and inspiring interior spaces for homes, offices, and public spaces. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Human Nature-Themed Art Galleries](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/sea-im-awake.md) - [Otherwordly Art Exhibitions](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/william-monk.md) - [Artfully Dynamic Vessels](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/devin-wilde.md) - [Vibrantly Colorful Dynamic Artwork](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/kayla-rumpp.md) - [Artistic Rum Series](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/artists-of-the-abyss.md) - [Interactive Kinetic Sculptures](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/interactive-kinetic-sculptures.md) - [Digital City-Inspired Art Works](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/grand-central-station.md) - [Otherworldly Wooden Art](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/wooden-sculptures-1.md) - [Juxtaposing Artful Collaborative Capsules](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/sea-galaxy.md)
