# Forest-Friendly Urinals The Aandeboom P-Tree Encourages Public Urination By Matt Ho | Published 2011-07-07 | Updated 2011-07-10 | Art & Design Source: Trend Hunter, https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/aandeboom-p-tree References: [core77](http://www.core77.com/blog/object_culture/aandebooms_p-tree_takes_####_out_of_festivalgoers_in_a_manner_of_speaking_19838.asp) & [aandeboom.nl](http://www.aandeboom.nl/#1240676/P-Tree) Laugh all you want, but I love the whole concept of the Aandeboom P-Tree. During those desperate times when nature calls, you can rest assured that this design will be there to provide a more sanitary solution. Never has [public urination](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/peetracker) been so promoted and glorified until the Aandeboom P-Tree came along. It's a [forest-friendly urinal](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/clesana-x1-camping-toilet) that was provided at the Denmark Roskilde Festival. The toilet is attached to a tree and has a hose that can be combined and connected to a waste pipe with a container. So if you're concerned about relieving yourself on a stump, be comforted in knowing that you're not. I would certainly want the P-Tree around when I'm at a [music festival](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/greenpublic) or in the city when it's last call and most bars will not let you use the restroom. The Aandeboom P-Tree is a beneficial item that takes the piss out of alcohol-fueled festival goers -- literally. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 5.4/10 - Popularity: 74% | Activity: 81% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 70% men, 30% women - Primary generations: Millennial, Gen X - Top markets: North America, Europe ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Art & Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/artdesign) > [Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/design) ## Key Themes ### Why This Trend Is Growing - **Forest-friendly Urinals:** The trend of forest-friendly urinals is disrupting traditional notions of public restrooms and providing a more sustainable solution. - **Promotion of Public Urination:** The trend of promoting public urination is challenging societal taboos and creating new opportunities for innovative restroom designs and infrastructure. - **Sanitary Solutions for Outdoor Events:** The trend of providing sanitary solutions for outdoor events is driving the development of portable urinal designs that offer convenience and hygiene in crowded environments. ### Industries Being Reshaped - **Event Planning:** The event planning industry can seize the opportunity presented by forest-friendly urinals to enhance attendee satisfaction and improve sanitation at outdoor events. - **Sustainable Design:** The sustainable design industry can capitalize on the trend of promoting public urination by creating innovative and eco-friendly urinal concepts that blend seamlessly into natural environments. - **Restroom Infrastructure:** The restroom infrastructure industry can explore disruptive innovation opportunities in creating efficient waste management systems and convenient urinal solutions for public spaces. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Anti-Splashing Bathroom Fixtures](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/modern-urinal-design.md) - [Inflatable Portable Toilets](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/airpot.md) - [Enclosed Japanese Park Toilets](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/toiletowa.md) - [Compact Portable Toilet Designs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/portable-toilets.md) - [Festival-Focused Toilet-Sharing Initiatives](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/home-toilet.md) - [Festive Bamboo Tissues Papers](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/stackatree.md) - [Packable Backcountry Bathroom Kits](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/bathroom-kit.md) - [Illuminated Public Artful Toilets](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/hiroo-east-park.md) - [Water-Free Telescoping Toilet Designs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/clesana-x1.md)
