The sharp blade rests inside of the handle and carefully slides out of the front initiated by a trigger switch. It is securely locked into place to that it will not slide around during use. It comes in three styles of either sword-point, drop-point, or tanto. The blade is inside of the aluminum handle and comes out with a secure sliding thumb-switch. When it is closed, it measures 4.9 inches, and 8.6 inches when the knife is deployed.
