# Striking Scenic Seating 'A Tree in the Meadow' by Tervhivatal is Minimalist and Artistic By Meghan Young | Published 2012-08-29 | Art & Design Source: Trend Hunter, https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/a-tree-in-the-meadow References: [trendsnow.net](http://www.trendsnow.net/2012/08/a-tree-in-the-meadow-furniture.html) & [yankodesign](http://www.yankodesign.com/2012/08/13/scenic-seating/) The A Tree in the Meadow furniture piece is a hybrid between a [coat rack and a bench](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/torii). A stunning design, it is inspired by the image of a lone tree standing tall and proud in the middle of a field. A bare-boned interpretation of what could very well be a cinematic scene, it is minimalist and artistic. Designed by Zsanett Benedek and Daniel Lakos of Tervhivatal, who also created the [Levity Lounge Chair](http://www.trendhunter.com/trends/levity-chaise-longue), the A Tree in the Meadow furniture piece is much more practical than at first perceived. What initially appears to be a bench can also be a sort of storage space as well. The use of multiple wooden spokes allows items such as shoes, umbrellas and more to be stored between them in a stylish manner. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 4.1/10 - Popularity: 78% | Activity: 37% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 50% men, 50% women - Primary generations: Millennial, Gen X - Top markets: North America, Europe, Asia ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Art & Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/artdesign) > [Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/design) ## Key Themes ### What Makes This Trend Stand Out - **Minimalist Design:** The A Tree in the Meadow furniture piece showcases the trend of minimalist design, offering opportunities for companies to create innovative and sleek products. - **Multifunctional Furniture:** The combination of a coat rack and a bench in A Tree in the Meadow demonstrates the trend of multifunctional furniture, opening up possibilities for companies to create space-saving and versatile pieces. - **Nature-inspired Design:** The inspiration from a lone tree in the middle of a field in A Tree in the Meadow reflects the trend of nature-inspired design, presenting opportunities for companies to create furniture that brings the outdoors inside. ### Sectors Adopting This - **Furniture Design:** The A Tree in the Meadow furniture piece provides disruptive innovation opportunities in the furniture design industry, allowing designers to reimagine traditional furniture and create unique and functional pieces. - **Home Organization:** The storage functionality of A Tree in the Meadow opens up disruptive innovation opportunities in the home organization industry, enabling companies to create stylish and space-efficient storage solutions. - **Interior Design:** The minimalist and artistic design of A Tree in the Meadow presents disruptive innovation opportunities in the interior design industry, encouraging designers to create visually striking and contemporary spaces. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Dual Sculpture Seating Designs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/immaterial-0001.md) - [Minimalist Meditative Bench Designs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/pause-bench.md) - [Sprouting Chair Designs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/wood-chair-on-grass.md) - [Elegantly Airy Outdoor Benches](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/arch-bench.md) - [Naturalistic Public Outdoor Furniture](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/life-ark-outdoor-seat.md) - [Ultra-Chic Minimalist Seating Designs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/minimalist-seating-design.md) - [Living Plant DIY Chairs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/green-hideaway.md) - [Sustainable Paper-Infused Benches](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/detalji-bench.md) - [Modular Outdoor Space Benches](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/mass-public-bench.md)
