# Alienated Superhero Illustrations ‘A Lonely God’ Features Sad Heroes Isolated from Soc By Alexander Lam | Published 2013-05-29 | Art & Design Source: Trend Hunter, https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/a-lonely-god References: [designtaxi](http://designtaxi.com/news/357931/Poignant-Minimalist-Illustrations-Of-Lonely-Superheroes/) & [behance.net](http://www.behance.net/gallery/A-lonely-god/8359621) Exposing the alienation that comes with being a superhero, ‘A Lonely God’ depicts heroes isolated from the world. Created by designer Cosmosnail, the illustrations poignantly demonstrate the downside of being a superhuman being. Though having super powers or advanced gadgetry may seem like a godsend, being different from others means being isolated from the general population. 'A Lonely God' features a wide array of superhero favorites such as [Superman](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/superman-collection) and [Wolverine](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/deadpool-and-wolverine-1). Cosmosnail also included [Batman](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/batman-x-blvck-collection), Spiderman and Ironman in the collection. Each hero is performing one of their daily crime-fighting tasks such as patrolling or researching. No matter what they are doing, each hero is seen doing it alone. To further emphasize the loneliness in each situation, the heroes are placed against an expansive background. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 5.8/10 - Popularity: 83% | Activity: 84% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 50% men, 50% women - Primary generations: Millennial, Gen X - Top markets: North America, Europe ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Art & Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/artdesign) > [Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/design) ## Key Themes ### Key Themes Behind This Trend - **Superhero Loneliness:** Develop new technologies that enhance socialization for superheroes or introduce storytelling techniques that emphasize the importance of teamwork among superheroes. - **Superhuman Isolation:** Create organizations or support groups that provide mental health support to individuals who feel isolated due to their unique abilities or talents. - **Superhero Vulnerability:** Incorporate vulnerability and the emotional effects of being a superhero in storytelling to make the characters more relatable to the audience. ### Where This Applies - **Comic Books:** Develop alternative superhero storylines that discuss the importance of mental health and socialization skills among superheroes. - **Entertainment Industry:** Introduce new mediums for portraying superheroes that depict their emotional and psychological struggles as well as the importance of relationships and team effort. - **Mental Health Industry:** Provide counseling services specifically tailored for individuals who feel lonely or isolated due to their differences from others. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Comic-Inspired Soda Cans](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/the-heroes.md) - [Villain-Themed Shoe Capsules](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/kith-for-asics.md) - [Comic-Themed Tech Accessories](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/super-heroes-vs-villains.md) - [AI-Generated Motorbike Helmets](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/coldstar-art.md) - [Buildable 3D Superhero Displays](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/gotham-city-skyline-set.md) - [Classic Superhero-Inspired Donuts](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/krispy-kreme-hungry-for-heroes.md) - [Superhero-Inspired Wristwatches](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/deadpool-and-wolverine-1.md) - [Superhero-Themed DIY Art Kits](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/jim-lee-batman.md) - [3D Superhero Block-Puzzle Sets](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/amazing-spiderman-set.md)
