# Discreet Wall-Mounted Sculptures A Kassen Creates Artworks That Could Easily Go Unnoticed By Meghan Young | Published 2013-04-17 | Art & Design Source: Trend Hunter, https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/a-kassen References: [beautifuldecay](http://beautifuldecay.com/2013/04/16/a-kassen-at-gallery-nicolai-wallner/) & [akassen](http://akassen.com/) The work of A Kassen, an art collective based in Copenhagen, Denmark, may be discreet, but they are nevertheless incredibly thought-provoking and even mind-boggling at times. The group writes, "The actions may even be so discrete, they don’t get noticed. But if they do get noticed, they contain strong elements of humor and surprise." Relying on details, the pieces currently showcasing at the Gallery Nicolai Wallner may look like a series of empty frames, but there is much more going on than first meets the eyes. For instance, A Kassen's [Permanent Reflection series](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/hooptical) is comprised of four [simple glass frames](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/frames-exhibition) that look as though they are reflecting the interior of the gallery they are placed in. In reality, A Kassen shot the interior and placed the carefully-crafted images in the frames. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 1.2/10 - Popularity: 26% | Activity: 3% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 50% men, 50% women - Primary generations: Millennial, Gen X - Top markets: Europe ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Art & Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/artdesign) ## Key Themes ### Why This Trend Is Growing - **Discreet Art Installations:** The trend in discreet art installations is providing an opportunity for artists to showcase their talent in unique ways that are not immediately apparent to the viewer. - **Innovative Use of Details:** The innovative use of details in A Kassen's art is a trend that provides opportunities for artists to challenge the observer's attention to detail and inspire creativity. - **Humorous Fine Art:** A trend towards humorous fine art installations, such as those by A Kassen, presents new opportunities for artists to combine wit and visual art to create interactive works that engage viewers in a fun, light-hearted way. ### Industries Being Reshaped - **Art Galleries:** Art galleries have an opportunity to showcase more discreet and innovative installations that challenge the viewer's perception of reality, making art more interactive and thought-provoking. - **Fine Art:** The fine art industry can capitalize on the trend of incorporating humor and unexpected visual elements into art pieces to make them more accessible and enjoyable for a wider audience. - **Visual Design:** Innovative uses of details in artwork, such as those in A Kassen's work, provide opportunities for designers to develop new approaches and techniques to create truly unique visual experiences. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Human Embraced-Inspired Sculptures](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/wallmounted-sculpture.md) - [Statement Street Art](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/surreal-street-art-1.md) - [Collaborative Monochromatic Art Exhibitions](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/collaborative-monochromatic-art-exhibition.md) - [Artful Suspended Fashion Exhibitions](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/invisible-figures.md) - [Fluid Function Art Exhibits](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/optical-flow.md) - [Sculptural Mixed-Media Designs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/folded-echoes.md) - [Artful Custom Mirror Collections](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/portraits-collection.md) - [Brain-Like Labyrinths](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/brash-collective.md) - [Intersecting Dimensional Art Sculptures](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/diorama.md)
