Greg Wright Architects designed the 'Harker Street' residence, a [beach house](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/dreal-house) located on the [steep bluffs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/aip-azia-villa) of Plettenberg Bay, South Africa.

Because of the tricky topography, the architects had to figure out how to orient the home across a "vertically driven program." Despite the challenges it posed, the steepness gives the home access to unparalleled views of the Robberg Reserve and [Keurbooms Lagoon](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/lagoon-view-residence). The main living area is placed in the widest of the vertical platform, allowing the kitchen, dining and living room to connect to the sheltered terrace. The terrace is surrounded by pergolas, canopies and a swimming pool, all of which have access to the panorama.

The architectural language of the home is described, in the project description, as being "unashamedly contemporary." The timber and natural stone materials chosen are meant to weather, as time goes on, to better reflect the coastal environment.
