What's great about this particular drone is that it guarantees an unprecedented degree of control. It is capable of moving along at incredibly fast speeds much like a lot of other racing drones out there on the market, but it can also do things such as flip, roll and fly at rapid speeds through tight areas such as between trees. The drone is currently the subject of a crowdfunding campaign over on Kickstarter, where an early bird pledge of $225 will get you one of these units once it hits the market. Ultimately, the TANKY racing drone is raising the stakes by making it possible for users to "truly experience flight, not just observe it". ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 2.7/10 - Popularity: 17% | Activity: 55% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 90% men, 10% women - Primary generations: Millennial - Top markets: North America, Europe ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Tech](https://www.trendhunter.com/tech) > [Gadgets](https://www.trendhunter.com/gadgets) ## Key Themes ### What's Driving This Trend - **Drone Racing Advancements:** Innovative new racing drone designs, like the TANKY, are pushing the boundaries of drone racing capabilities and offering more control and trickery. - **Personal Drone Usage:** The TANKY and other drones are evidence of growing interest in personal drone usage for sports and leisure activities. - **Crowdfunding for Drone Development:** Crowdfunding websites like Kickstarter are providing opportunities for drone developers to fund drone creation and racing advancements. ### Who This Affects Most - **Drone Manufacturing:** Manufacturers of drones, such as DJI and Parrot, can strive to create next-level racing capabilities and control opportunities for drone racers. - **Sports and Leisure:** Leisure industries can adopt drones as a new form of entertainment, offering drone racing and trick competitions to attract attendees. - **Crowdfunding Platforms:** Crowdfunding websites, such as Kickstarter and Indiegogo, can inspire, host, and fund drone racing development projects. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Cinewhoop-Style Camera Drones](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/dji-avata.md) - [Storytelling Drone Experiences](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/antigravity-drones.md) - [Heavy-Duty Hybrid Drones](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/hybrid-drones.md) - [Powerfully Propelled VTOL Drones](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/vtol-drone.md) - [Modular Self-Flying Drones](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/hoverair-x1-pro.md) - [High-Speed Remote-Controlled Tanks](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/xrc-brawler.md) - [Drone-Themed Beds](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/drone-themed-bed.md) - [Waterproof Self-Flying Drones](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/hoverair-aqua-drone.md) - [Carbon-Caged Mapping Drones](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/mapping-drone.md)
