# Mind-Controlled Water Tanks 'May the Force be With You' Puts Art in Your Hands By Davina Sinnatamby | Published 2014-03-15 | Art & Design Source: Trend Hunter, https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/May-the-force-be References: [creativeapplications.net](http://www.creativeapplications.net/processing/may-the-force-be-with-you-teo-park/) & [psfk](http://www.psfk.com/2014/03/kinetic-water-tank-is-controlled-by-hand-movement-video.html) Seoul-based artist Teo Park created a kinetic-inspired art sculpture that allows visitors to engage with an interactive water tank. 'May the Force be With You' is controlled by the viewer's hand movements. Kinect technology allows the viewer to feel like a Jedi. They can move their hands around and feel like they really have the ability to control the water movements inside the tank with their minds. Modern art today is really changing the viewer's role when it comes to admiring art. The best part about the installation is that viewers can see the art change in front of them. It as if they are part of the art. Contrary to a still-life painting at a gallery, 'May the Force be With You' lets a visitor become a contributing artist. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 2.1/10 - Popularity: 28% | Activity: 27% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 50% men, 50% women - Primary generations: Gen Z, Millennial - Top markets: North America, Europe, Asia ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Art & Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/artdesign) > [Modern](https://www.trendhunter.com/modern) ## Key Themes ### What's Driving This Trend - **Kinetic Art:** Opportunity to explore new interactive art forms using technology and movement. - **Mind Control:** Opportunity to integrate brain-computer interfaces into interactive experiences to enhance user engagement. - **User-generated Art:** Opportunity to involve viewers in creating and contributing to art installations using technology and interactivity. ### Who This Affects Most - **Art:** Opportunity to incorporate technology and interactivity into traditional art forms to enhance user engagement and experience. - **Entertainment:** Opportunity to create new forms of interactive entertainment using mind control and kinetic technology. - **Technology:** Opportunity to develop brain-computer interface technology for use in interactive art and entertainment experiences. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Water Movement Sculptural Instruments](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/inner-waves.md) - [Interactive Kinetic Sculptures](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/interactive-kinetic-sculptures.md) - [Physics-Informed Digital Sculptures](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/motion-sculpture.md) - [Wonderous Art Installations](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/your-psychoacoustic-light-ensemble.md) - [Dynamic Art Exhibitions](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/art-in-motion-exhibition.md) - [Kinetic Artful Sand Tables](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/arrakis-30.md) - [Sensorially Immersive Art Experiences](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/phenomena-abu-dhabi.md) - [Unique Interactive Installations](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/the-aurora.md) - [Mesmerizing Fluid Art Installations](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/flow-fountain.md)
