This mid-century [Eichler](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/destination-eichler) home recently got an update, courtesy of Klopf Architecture. The owners of this cozy home in Palo Alto found themselves in need of [more room to spread out](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/a-simple-addition) and while tacking on some extra square footage is easy, the challenge involved staying true to the original look and feel of the home.

The new space accommodates a bathroom, a bedroom and an atrium clad in a warm wood paneling. Keeping true to the [mid-century style](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/highland-park-residence) of the exterior, the interior of the house carries through the same finishes and materials, making it seem as though the addition was always a part of the original structure. In addition to more space, the expanded portion of the house also introduced more light into the foyer, which make the home much more welcoming.
